Unfortunately this is as good a view you can get as the walls to this scrapyard were very high. I do hope to return to see if i can get some better pictures, these weren't the only gems in there.

An exceptionally clean Mk1 Accord, and the rarer hatchback variant as well. It still wears what appears to be its original dealer plate surrounds for Hawke's Bay Honda.

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W177) is the fourth and current generation of the A-Class range of subcompact executive hatchbacks and sedans. It was launched in 2018 as the successor to the W176 A-Class, with sales commencing in March 2018. The available body styles include:

5-door hatchback (W177 model code)

4-door sedan (V177 model code)

4-door long wheelbase sedan (Z177, only sold in China)

The W177 A-Class hatchback officially debuted at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. It is based on the front-wheel drive MFA2 (Modular Front Architecture) platform and features front MacPherson struts, and rear torsion beam suspension on lower end models or a multi-link rear suspension on A250 models.

All models feature the new Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system with a redesigned touch interface and voice-controlled smart assistant that is activated by saying "Hey Mercedes". MBUX also contains what3words functionality as standard. It is also able to offer quick shortcuts to menus based on the past habits of the user. The system is also optionally available with an augmented reality navigation system that records and displays directional arrows on the road in the navigation system.

The Renault 11 Hatchback was launched in Febr. 1983. In fact the 11 was a Renault 9 Phase 2 but not as the more traditional ponton type saloon with a boot.

Both 9 and 11 were designed by Robert Opron.

And this is the last of the UK registered vehicles from my recently discovered archive. I can't understand why I chose to only take a profile view.

The Passat estate with the plate partially in view is F910 KRO. They must've been plentiful enough back then to not warrant photographing, because F-reg B3s have all but disappeared today. Indeed, this one no longer troubles the DVLA.

As mentioned in my last upload, I found myself behind this Renault 5 on my way home from work on Thursday, and it gave me the idea of seeing if I could take my Uno through to where I remembered seeing the R5 in the past. Happily the car was where I expected it to be today, although I had to take these shots rather hurriedly as I was blocking the road. These cars were registered in Edinburgh within weeks of each other, and to my knowledge there are no other surviving cars in the city of that type or age. Although the R5 is looking rough now, there is no obvious rust on it, and it is a testament to the durability of these Renaults. As far as I know it has sat outdoors all it's life, and I'm pretty sure my Uno wouldn't still be around if it had been subjected to the same treatment.

The Ignis returns after a decade away, taking styling clues from the Whizzkid of the 70s/80s.

A rarely seen, Proton Satria Neo R3 sports hatchback on the side of a gated community road. It is fitted with a Malaysian designed, 1.6 liter, 4 cylinder DOHC, 16-valve, multi point fuel injection gasoline engine (Campro CPS).

While the car itself is street legal, its fancy license plate isn't. And no, it is not my car. 😁

This was an impromptu photo opportunity, actually. It wasn't intended as a "car shot" per se and unlike my usual car pictures, I didn't take additional pics from different angles. I was walking down the road and thought the bright yellow color scheme complemented the nice clouds in the background sky. 📷

Fourth generation (BE91; 1995)

5-door hatchback

The Ford Fiesta is a supermini marketed by Ford since 1976 over seven generations. Over the years, the Fiesta has mainly been developed and manufactured by Ford's European operations, and has been positioned below the Escort (later the Focus).

The third-generation Fiesta Mark III, codenamed BE-13, was unveiled at the end of 1988 and officially went on sale in February 1989. The car was based on a new platform, ditching the old car's rear beam axle for a semi-independent torsion beam arrangement, and looked radically different, addressing the principal weakness of the previous generation – the lack of a five-door version, which was by then available in its major rivals such as the Fiat Uno, Peugeot 205 and 106, and Opel Corsa/Vauxhall Nova. The other main change was to the running gear – the improved high-compression swirl version of the Kent/Valencia powerplant. The CVH units from the second generation were carried over largely unmodified. The diesel engine was enlarged to a 1.8 L capacity.

Also, cannot remember and cannot see from this angle whether it is a Dualis or Dualis +2 (7 seater).

Deep down in the entry for the Dualis, RedBook do categorise it as a Hatch (SUV). So I'm calling it a hatchback!

The MK1 Punto went on sale in 1993 but didn't arrive in the UK until 1994, hence why the Punto wasn't eligible for the 1994 Car of the Year award. Personally even as a former Punto MK2 owner, I think the MK1 has aged better than the Mk2.

This example is probably wearing its original suppling dealer number plates.

The new generation Italian-built Fiat 500 is only avaliable as battery electric vehicle. The previous Polish-built 500 continues to be sold alongside it.

A Rover 200 in Delmenhorst.

An incredibly late registered Chevette, considering they were phased out on 'A' reg and the three door hatchback wasn't even availible past 1983, wonder what the story with this one could be. Also, it seems to be a model I have never even heard of before, and I can't seem to locate any information about it on the internet. Anyone have an idea?

30 years and Clio still looks spot on, even aged better than the bulbous pre-facelift 1998-2001 Mk2. This 'Phase II' (first facelift) Mk1 Clio is in high-spec RT trim.
