A very late R16. The yellow head lights match perfectly with the colour of the car.
The R16 was presented in jan. 1965. The hatchback concept in combination with front-wheel traction was at the time very modern.
It was designed by Philippe Charbonneaux (1917-1998) in cooperation with Gaston Juchet.
For 1971 the R16 got a restyled rear end.
For 1973 the luxury R16 TX was added with lots of standard options and accessories.

The new Simca 1100-Series was launched in May 1967. By the time it was a modern car: modern design as a 5-door hatchback with front wheel traction.
In 1969 an estate version was added.
For the 1975 model the 1100-Series got new door handles.
After PSA took over Simca from Chrysler-Europe in late 1978 the brand name Simca was gradually replaced from Simca-Talbot to finally Talbot. The Dutch car registration authorities RDW has incorrectly registered this car as Talbot 1100.
The Simca 1100 was also assembled in Madrid and sold as Simca 1200 (till Spring 1982).

The Kia Mentor has practically disappeared overnight in the UK. Although they were never big sellers, I recall seeing a fair amount of them about until the late 2000s. After doing some investigating, it appears that this example is about 1 of 3 Mentor hatchbacks left on the road in the UK. They were respectable cars, but due to them being rather obscure and of low value, most were scrapped for no reason or for simple faults. I left a note on this example and got a call back from the owners husband, an elderly gentleman, who says he’d consider selling the car in the near future, so watch this space!

This was my previous Honda. I called it: the Testarossa.
I loved, loved, ***LOVED*** this machine. Very small but free revving engine. Excellent click-clack gearbox. I could make the RPM's dance around. Nice shiftbacks and the engine talked to me, it had a soul. Ultra fast steering. I think it's one of the most beautiful cars ever. Nice and compact, Milano Red colour. Start button. Dampers and suspension weren't that good. Something's got to give.
Very special car and ultra fun to drive.

These Fiat 500 seem to be selling well. This person is obviously a big Motorcycle fan of Italian Valentino Rossi. But the talented young Spaniard Mark Marquez is showing him who the new master is.. Much prefer the Moto GP to that boring car procession.
The Kaiser Traveler of 1950 looked like a conventional sedan, but the rear compartment opened hatchback-style - an idea that was perhaps too far ahead of its time for the American buying public. Kaiser's post-1945 foray into the car market proved short-lived, exiting by 1953.

The MGB GT arrived in 1965 three years after the Roadster with production continued in 1980 and modifications in line with the Roadster. Designed by Pininfarina and launching the sporty hatchback style. The new configuration was a 2+2 design most components were shared although the GT did receive different suspension springs and anti-roll bars and a different windscreen. Performance wise the GT had slightly slower acceleration due to its extra weight but a higher top speed due to improved aerodynamics.
The Mark II 1972-80 originally brought few changes. Mainly to the interior with the heater and fascia altered. Early in 1974 to meet US impact regulations the chrome bumper over riders were replaced by large rubber ones. Nicknamed Sabrina's after the actress who was the Jordan of her day. In the second half of 1974 these were replaced by by heavy steel reinforced black rubber bumpers which also incorporated the nose. The rear had matching bumpers. New US head lamp regulations also meant that the lights were to low a situation remedied by raising the suspension one inch, Complying with the new US emission regulations also meant a reduction in power

I headed off to the shore house last week with a car load of plants for my garden and have been busy ever since, happily playing in the dirt.
We've had some glorious weather here near the coast and it's felt so good being out in the fresh air and sunshine working in the garden. The other day while I was planting it was wonderful to see two different pair of osprey circling way up in the thermals directly above the house. You could hear them calling to one another. Music to my ears!
