This small 3-door hatchback was introduced by Innocenti in 1974 and designed by Nuccio Bertone. It was in fact a rebodied version of the BL Mini which was a licensed produced car by Innocenti.
At first they had the original 998cc/1275cc BL engine, since April 1982 they were equipped with a 3 cylinder Daihatsu engine.
In 1980 and 1986 the body was restyled.

I had a suspicion I'd seen this before and indeed I have (see my Ford and 2018 albums). A true survivor with only minimum signs of rot that typically blights Fords of this era. 39,787 miles at last MOT, though I can't say if it has been round the clock.
Previously sharing a platform with the Ford Fiesta, the 2 is now based on Mazda's own platform after Mazda and Ford parted ways. Also sold as the Toyota Yaris in North America.
The new Simca 1100-Series was launched in May 1967. By the time it was a modern car: modern design as a 5-door hatchback with front wheel traction.
In 1969 an estate version was added.
For the 1975 model the 1100-Series got new door handles.
After PSA took over Simca from Chrysler-Europe in late 1978 the brand name Simca was gradually replaced from Simca-Talbot to finally Talbot. The Dutch car registration authorities RDW has incorrectly registered this car as Talbot 1100.
The Simca 1100 was also assembled in Madrid and sold as Simca 1200 (till Spring 1982).

I've no idea how this is possible, but even a VIN check has verified that this one-owner-from-new T100 Lanos was indeed built in 2001, despite the fact that the T150 had been launched two years earlier.
The Renault 11 Hatchback was launched in Febr. 1983. In fact the Renault 11 Phase 1 was a Renault 9 Phase 2 but not as the more traditional ponton type saloon with a boot.
Both 9 and 11 were designed by Robert Opron.
The Renault 9/11 series was also assembled in Valladolid, Spain.

This picture is taken from a book. I assume the photo was taken in the early 1970s regarding the fashionable lady.
The Renault 6 shared the platform with the Renault 4. It had a larger and more modern body which has some resemblance of the 1965-1980 Renault 16.
In June 1973 phase 2 was introduced. It received a face-lifted front and rear end.

A Vauxhall Astra 1.3 Diesel Hatchback owned by Northumbria Police, is pictured outside Alnwick Police Station. Now completely plain this was once a marked response car based in the Central Area Command (hence why the plate is only half blocked). It now appears to be a G.P car.

The 5-door 205 hatchback was designed by Gerhard Welter and was introduced in February 1983. Soon it gained such big approval of the audience that it helped the struggling PSA to find their way back to black figures.

The choice if you wanted a medium-size French hatchback in 1986. The Renault 11, as famously destroyed by Roger Moore in 'A View to a Kill', was only a three year old design but the Citroen GSA was right at the end of its life and rather dated, having originated back in 1970 as the GS.
