After 8 months on display on Chicago's Michigan Ave, the Marilyn Monroe statue is leaving Chicago. Chicagoans who have stared, gawked, enjoyed and reveled in her aura since last July now must bid her adieu, adios, sayonara, goodbye. The statue is the work of Seward Johnson and will be traveling to Palm Springs California.

The highlight was the fried catfish and corn fritters. The hotsauce too. We tried going to Tyrone's Chicken but no dice. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl8CQv3s3yI
I checked out a great book from the library about Japanese prints.
This piece is one of my favorites. Minimal line work in the figure. Soft, flowing patterns on the fabrics.

Hashiguchi Goyō's ukiyo-e painting Kamisuki (Combing Hair) converted to a vector then reconverted to a raster image. The overall result is a little dark but if used as a background to a tablet, it may not matter.
