Handheld Twilight, Sony HX300
"Notre-Dame Basilica (French: Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal) is a basilica in the historic district of Old Montreal, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The church is located at 110 Notre-Dame Street West, at the corner of Saint Sulpice Street. It is located next to the Saint-Sulpice Seminary and faces the Place d'Armes square.
The main construction work took place between 1824 and 1829. The cornerstone was laid at Place d"Armes on September 1, 1824. The sanctuary was finished in 1830, and the first tower in 1841, the second in 1843. On its completion, the church was the largest in North America. It remained the largest in North America for over fifty years.[6] A new pipe organ was built in 1858 by Samuel Russell Warren.
The interior took much longer, and Victor Bourgeau, who also worked on Montreal's Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral, worked on it from 1872 to 1879. Stonemason John Redpath was a major participant in the construction of the Basilica." [1]

How wonderful nature is, with the concept of synergy between the eco-system. While the critter is after the Honey in the flowers, the Flowers use the butterfly as a vehicle for pollination, and thus ensures its own survival. A win-win situation for both.
Similarly must we aim to create synergies with our own eco-system that is happy to provide for us. Rather than just take away from the environment, a little effort to also give back something to it, to ensure its continuous survival, is not just a way of saying gratitude, but may also be our duty.

Octopuses are boneless creatures. They are invertebrates with extremely flexible bodies that can squeeze through incredibly small spaces. An octopus has three hearts, nine brains, and blue blood. Two hearts pump blood to the gills, while a third circulates it to the rest of the body. The nervous system includes a central brain and a large ganglion at the base of each arm which controls movement. Octopus blood contains the copper-rich protein hemocyanin, which is more efficient than hemoglobin for oxygen transport at very low temperatures and low oxygen concentrations.

Continuing my pinhole exploration, I intended to photograph this avocado green vase from the 70's in the light of our bedroom's north-facing windows, but nothing really felt right as I moved the object around to different locations.
After setting up the table and moving the vase to the corner of the room, I experimented with handholding a 20 second exposure to get this sort of "old painting" type of shot. It's technically very underexposed (and arguably compositionally uninteresting) but there is something about it that I really like.
