This dress had two bleach stains on the chest. Because of its material and simplicity, it seemed to be the perfect candidate to my Wear a Garden Project, where I propose to hand embroider pieces of clothing, which may or may not have something to hide, giving them a new look and extending their lives.

Here we have the new photos of my bags done by a great photographer friend. Over time he will be upgrading my photos for me! Oak and Acorns are Hand embroidered with metallic threads. This bag is big enough for a large sized Tarot Deck or Oracle Cards. People have also used these bags for jewellery, crystals, runes and more!

This is the first toy drop we did as part of The Toy Society. The point is to make a handmade toy for someone to find and take home. The maker expects nothing in return. It's just for the sake of doing something positive in the world.

When: Monday, January 16, 2012 - Martin Luther King Day

Other Comments: My daughters (Sophia and Olivia) and I were so excited to put the little teddy bear in one of carts for children to use.

We hope it will brighten a child's day and perhaps make a parent's trip around the store a little bit easier since it was about 4:15 p.m. when we dropped it off.

We checked back at 4:45 p.m. when we left the store, but the cart had not yet been taken. Perhaps it will be found tonight...maybe in the morning.

We hope the child who finds it enjoys naming the bear and taking it on journeys with her/him.

I made this picture from the Dia De Los Muertos Pattern from www.sublimestitching.com

This is one of the ornaments that I hand-embroidered this year. I try to make new ornaments each year.

The sweater is made from wool felt. I used the blanket-stitch, French knots, and straight stitch to make the design and finish the edges.

The little hanger I made from wire.

Amanda traced the 903 logo from the iPod Touch to keep the surprise under wraps. She is one resourceful/crafty/sneaky/amazing gal.

She worked SO hard on this embroidery project. Olivia is an early riser, so we'd sit together almost every morning while she embroidered the picture for up to an hour.

Her stitching is very tiny ...on the average about an 1/8" or smaller. So, it took a long time to stitch.
