Sculpture "Safe Hands" by artist Ron Arad looms over pedestrians and reflects life on Toronto's Bloor Street.
This impressive sculpture has become a part of the busy Yonge/Bloor intersection such that many pedestrians pass it by without so much as a glance.
You can see a 4 min. video explaining the artist's concept and the fabrication challenges for this remarkable sculpture:

HTC mobilephone / cellphone - surprisingly good details - from my HTC hand phone archive.
This crescent shaped Island was actually the rim of a giant under-water volcano erupted thousands of years ago but a large portion of it collapsed forming the island with a small volcanic island in the middle.
Dug out of the archive to contribute to a photo club theme entitled "Hands and Feet". Taken on July 12th, 2008 at my home when I lived in the Charente, France. The adult finger is my left index finger and the tiny hand clutching it is my grand-daughter Hermione's. Dicey shot: I had to hold the camera in the other hand to take the shot.
Type 'l' to view in flickr's 'Lightbox". Repeat to return.

born out of uniqueness
our hands create
for each other
Say the words break my heart
Touch my lips with your fingers
and push them apart
put your hands in my hair
and pull me down
well you're nothing but a stranger to me now

This is another one of my favorites of Lauren. I think it captures her personality pretty well...

This was an outtake from my shoot yesterday for day 16 of my 365 project. I almost like it more than the actual image I used. I've been having a bunch of physical problems recently with my joints and this reminded me how the body can heal its self if you take some time to spend outside. All the images from yesterday can be seen here: charliebirdphotography.tumblr.com
