I reminisce on Grandma's hands

Her visions of Heaven's lands

Spectacles of repose so grand

Summer floral perfumes

Velvet pastures for rooms

Eternal light so divine

Ambrosia, sweeter than wine

I reminisce on Grandma's hands

Gnarled, old but natural

Her songs, hymns so musical

Her life well spent, faithful

I reminisce on Grandma's hands

Her dreams came true, that's grand

Souls in repose, in Summer-land

Her visions of Heaven's lands

Yes, I recall my Grandma's hands.

I often use this on my hands.

A young piano Jazz prodigy performed at the well-known Friday Jazz at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). Four young musicians joined the artist, consisting of drums, upright bass, trombone, and tenor sax. It was the opening act for Charles Owens, an American jazz saxophonist, and flutist. It was a superb evening.

When I am finishing a picture, I hold some God-made object up to it - a rock, a flower, the branch of a tree or my hand - as a final test. If the painting stands up beside a thing man cannot make, the painting is authentic. If there's a clash between the two, it's bad art.

Today's photo tour takes us to the Magic Kingdom for a shot of the Partners Statue which is a must photograph photo for me on every Disney trip. There is just something about this statue that speaks to me especially when you have that golden hour sun hitting it. There are so many different angles you can get which can really give you a bunch of creative shots. How do you photograph the Partners Statue? Have a magical day!

"Now that my hands are tied what did you have in mind?"

I saw someone favourited this picture and then I just realized it looked like there was this tiny fox in my hand! It even had the white/greyish part at the end of the tail! :D

So I drawed a fox in it.. I know it's ugly haha but I'm not really an animal drawer. I actually hate drawing (and yes I studied illustration, sigh, long story!). At times like these I wish I had a drawing tablet! Anway, it has no legs since they are hiding behind it's tail and his front legs are ehm.. well.. just somewhere lying around ;)

Just though the idea was cute, might make a better version someday :)

Explored! :)

Yet another homage to the master, M.C. Escher and his masterpiece, "Drawing Hands". This concept however goes a bit astray of Escher's; He was fascinated by the interaction of two dimensional and three dimensional objects, whereas in this image, both the hands and the clay are three dimensional.

Nevertheless, when an idea like this occurs to me I generally act on it. So when the idea struck me at 7:45 on friday night, I rushed out to Michael's Crafts to pick up a couple boxes of modeling clay. I didn't get around to working on the concept until last night around 9:30. The sculpting of the clay forearms took me about two hours. It took another thirty minutes to photograph the model and my hands. The post production took about 4 hours.

Exploring the new medium (clay) was really fun. :)
