This hand painted sign must have taken many, many hours of work.
Almost all modern sign writing is done by computer cut vinyl stickers.
Not a great quality photo (they were at the other end of a long table) but I like the juxtaposition of these hands and the different implements they are using to take notes

The long title of this painting is “Hand of old man on trunk whilst starting to climb cherry tree”. This image was another of those created for “An Introduction to Art: Concepts and Techniques”, with Cousera. The task was to make a collage from newspaper clippings based on the photo. Not being keen on scissors and glue, I decided to work from the photo to produce an acrylic painting. This image was submitted for the “Stories Through the Lens” assignment together with the following artist’s statement.
“Title: Old Man's hand
“The photograph was taken with a LUMIX Panasonic DMC-FX07 camera in macro mode with X2 telephoto, and adjusted to render the image in sepia.
“I chose to use acrylic paint on canvas (10 x 12 inches) rather than collage for my final image. This choice was more of a challenge to me, so that I could produce something original. The artwork was photographed, and the resultant image was converted to black and white to keep it more in line with the expectations of this assignment.
“I was experimenting with colours for the painting, using white, permanent alizarin crimson, burnt sienna and raw umber. Although this was not part of the assignment, I found it far more inspiring than working on a collage as specified. I hope that the assessors can find some enjoyment in the way I worked.
“The choice of subject was driven by looking at the instructional video about Alfred Stiegler, in particular his photo portraits of Georgia O'Keafe's hands. The background of the bark on a cherry tree in my garden was chosen to add to the challenge of making an unusual final image. The original intention was to use more stippling, but that turned out to be unsuitable for the subject.”

Ho usato dei colori più naturali (thank you Shi XD) e ho provato a fare la french col pennellino 00.... una tragedia.
E pensare che tra poco mi sa che Yume effettuerà un cambiamento... quasi radicale: Sto pensando di rifarle il trucco, che, per quanto mi piaccia, mi sa troppo di bambola di porcellana ;(
In più l'msc sulla fronte si é spellato tutto l'msc... la Dollmore ci ha messo proprio uno sputo scarso di MSC ;A;
