This is carved on linoleum. I think I didn't wait long enough for the background to dry and then some of the paper pulled up. But, I like that look. I inked this up and then ran it through my Big Shot as a press.

I've been a nail-biter as long as I can remember - it's a nerves thing. And, I guess, I've been kind of a nervous person as long as I can remember. I'm learning, though, learning to deal with unknowns and spontaneity. I'm learning to grab the moments as they come rather than waiting for them to show up on my schedule. I think photography has helped with that - seeing a perfect spot of light and being okay with being a bit late to whatever it was I was rushing to. I may be learning to grab those moments, but I don't know that I'll be quitting the biting anytime soon...

So they gave me a ,,real camara" for one day. They aren't photographers at all, and i gave them those photos :) we were both very happy that day.

This photo was taken from the festival parade passing through Pohjoisesplanadi near the center of Helsinki. This parade was one of the additional free events in Helsinki Party related to the Eurovision song contest 2007 and as far as I know, it consisted of mostly young circus trainees. I'll probably post still a couple of more photos from the other parades from the same evening.

(yes, I know, her head is somewhat out of the focus area; I still need more training in shooting unpredictable live events. I should also repeat to myself that it's not a crime to stop the 85mm lens down occasionally :)

We'll go to the end of life

I'll never let you go
