I debated with myself on the caption for this photo.The other choice was Knocked Slap Out.My feeders are only 20-25 feet from the patio door.Birds often fly into the door,at least once a day.My wife just happened to be there when this one flew into the door.She looked out and saw it on the steps all sprawled out and motionless.
Rose went out and picked it up to check it out,after several minutes it opened it's little eyes and she checked it's wings and legs and all appeared to be Ok.She petted it for a little while and eventually placed it on a soft patch of moss next to me because I was already there taking bird shots.
It sat there motionless for quite a while,but after about thirty minuets it finally recovered enough to fly off.I should have tried to catch it flying away but I was distracted by a Cardinal and didn't notice it until it was too late.
My time here on flickr will probably be sporadic at best for the next few weeks,I have a lot of irons in the fire at the moment and I'm also battling a minor physical issue.I intend to keep as close as possible to my regular routine,but if I don't make my rounds as usual this is why.

In 2019 I volunteered on a marine biology / bioversity / research / conservation project on Peru's Pacific coast based near the fishing own of Zorritos (Tumbes area) organised by Earthwatch and local non-profit Planeta Oceano. The principal focus of our project was the protection of endanerged giant manta rays. They are now protected by law in Peru but are at risk of being bycatch casualties, tangling in (and damaging) fishing nets. A critical part of Planeta Oceano's work is to find ways to collaborate with the local fishing community.
A hand (med./lat.: manus, pl. manūs) is a prehensile, multi-fingered extremity located at the end of an arm or forelimb of primates and humans, chimpanzees, monkeys, and lemurs. A few other vertebrates such as the koala (which has two opposable thumbs on each "hand" and fingerprints remarkably similar to human fingerprints) are often described as having either "hands" or "paws" on their front limbs.

When all seemed lost, the magic vine with his incredible assortment of leaves, and flowers, and fruit, and hands whipped itself across the water, stretching its hands to save Tiny and Famer Flickrite from their perilous position. Palo grabbed hold of the vine to secure its roots in the soft sandy bank. Has fortune finally turned a favourable fave upon our friends?

This is what the card looks like when you pull on the ribbon. The top slides up and the bottom slides down. Pretty nifty!

They say you tell tell a lot about a person by looking into there eyes. I think the same can be said by looking at a persons hands. Well I have to say thanks to By buddy JD Fielding for letting me photograph his hands. I added the smoke in during the post processing. I just added a little burn and dodge. then a little curve and adjusted the contrast a tiny bit.
BTW if you have not tryed to photograph smoke against a black backdrop before I think you should try it...What a pain in the ass to get right. it took me about 15 shots to get 3 keepers.
