14 July 2014 Macro Mondays theme: hand made
Wood carving, done by my father, many years ago.
He had first made a model in clay, then some years after that, had carved this.
See below for other views, some macro, some showing the full figure.
It stands about 37cm or 14.5in tall.
Just playing around on photoshop. I like how this looks, I might expand on the idea of mirroring images. There's a unique and interesting effect created by the mirrored photos that I like.
...and let me guide you.
take my hand: ben harper.
probably should point out that it's not 'my hand' - it's lydia's :)
TheSamiAwesome, sorry for taking so long to take these, and for the horrible lighting. Cursed winter time >_<
From the top..
Hands on doll are original Shinydoll Fragille hands (which I personally find a bit too small and girly but when attached they do flex and move a lot better than the RS one below that are better in proportion)
Middle sized hands, ResinSoul hands, NS tone.
Slightly modded down around wrist for better fit with Shinydoll Fragille body.
And finally, largest and most flexible jointed hands, 1:4 White Female DikaDoll hands. Which as you can see are a bit too large, not only in proportion but also when it comes to actually attaching to the Shinydoll Fragille wrist socket thingies. Maybe they'd fit with a Shinydoll Thaasa though?
I've been working at a lumber yard for a year, now. My first job. I've had a lot of cuts, bruises, splinters...my hands are pretty beat up and calloused, now. I also play guitar, so that adds to the callouses...and I bite my nails. That helps nothing. :P Didn't do any editing to this photo, it took me forever to be able to aim the camera right, so I finally gave up and picked this one to toss up on Flickr. ;)
A statue of St Michael the archangel guards the grave of Viscount Bridport at the church in Cricket St Thomas in Somerset.
General Alexander Nelson Hood, 1st Viscount Bridport, 4th Duke of Bronté was a soldier and later a courtier for Prince Albert, then Queen Victoria and Edward VII. He was the great nephew of Horatio Nelson. Although he was buried in the churchyard of the Cricket St Thomas estate, by the time of his death in 1904, Bridport had sold the house and grounds.
Rather discoloured now, the large white statue has at times been laid flat on the grave to avoid scaring visitors to the church.
Pentacon Six with 80mm CZJ Biometar F2.8, extension tube, expired Fuji Provia. This version is adapted to B&W with DxO. I've never used it before to change film photo's, only for digital (which I don't upload to Flickr). I left the dust for authenticity reasons....
