Well ladies and gents, looks like I made it to day 150!
I've said this before, but lately I haven't been devoting enough time to this project. I've been rushing to snap a photo at the last minute a lot of the time with little to no creative energy. That's why I decided to step it up a bit for today's shot.
I owe it to all of you that see my photos in your stream every day to make an image that is at least remotely interesting, so I'm going to try my best to do so. I've also slacked in commenting on your pictures, so I'm going to try to pick that up as well.
Thanks everyone for your inspiration and support :)

Anyways, enough with that stuff. Today I finally took delivery of my new (old) desk, and it's pretty neat. I still need to figure out how I want to utilize the extra shelf space. I'll attach a picture of how it currently looks below.
Mixed my sister's hands with tree bark to get a different texture. One of my favorites.
I won Honorable Mention for this photograph in the Double Exposure category in the Celebration of the Arts at my school on 25 May 2011
this book is one of the excellent handmade zakka series. it has so many projects! they are for fabric and sewn projects in a variety of sizes.
they are grouped generally by fabric type: liberty print; linen and lace; and check and stripe.
there are skirts, scarves, blouses, dresses, tops, aprons, hair handkerchief...
bags(large and small, sling, shoulder) cases (card, tissues, telephone, pen) book cover, water bottle case, and pin cushions...
items for the home (cushion covers, cases, hangers, cafe curtain, towel, placemat and doily, tea cozy, coasters, and potholder, basket, cutlery case.
all directions are in japanese. there are many clear diagrams and pictures showing how to make the projects. if you have some sewing experience, i think you will be able to figure out all the projects without any trouble. the sewing itself is very simple. if you are a beginner sewer, you might want to ask a friend to help you with some of the projects.

We were on a walk on Sunday in the Lazienki Park.
These little guys let me feed them by hand.
I am still amazed :)
I never hurt myself so when something happens involving stitches I like to milk it for all it's worth. This was just teeny, tiny, minor surgery to remove a small growth.

This was a beautiful project for a wonderful friend of mine. She wanted this God's hand or Hamsa hand as a pendant for a bracelet. Inside you can find Erin's "koru swirls". The herringbone weave around a perfect amazonite rondelle seems like an eye, and I put some czech crystals in a wonderful amethyst color. Hope you like it!

“The wind sounds like a silver wire,
And from beyond the noon a fire
Is pour'd upon the hills, and nigher
The skies stoop down in their desire;
And, isled in sudden seas of light,
My heart, pierced thro' with fierce delight,
Bursts into blossom in his sight.”
~ Alfred Tennyson ~
These mighty haymakers stand 60 feet high and weigh 30 tons, the largest bronze sculpture in the world. One would like to imagine that they are strong, American hands, but evangelist Oral Roberts outsourced their casting to Juarez, Mexico in 1980.
The hands were originally called "The Healing Hands" and they stood in front of Oral's "City of Faith," a medical center devoted to faith healing. But the City of Faith wound up on the short end of a series of lawsuits and declared bankruptcy in 1989. The hands were then moved to the entrance drive of the university. Also on the property is the Oral Roberts Prayer Tower.
The City of Faith is now known as CityPlex Towers, and it houses corporate tenants. Its central tower stands 640 feet tall, which reportedly is the same height as the Jesus who appeared to Oral in a dream and told him to build it.

The extremely talented hands of Steve Hackett on stage at The Queen's Hall in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago.
Those hands are responsible for a significant part of many of my favourite pieces of music...and I'm loving his music...and his guitar playing, more than ever.
My thanks are due to Steve Hackett for arranging my photo pass for this gig. :-)
You can see all my posted shots of Steve in my Steve Hackett set.
"Take my hand, I’ll teach you to dance.
I’ll spin you around, won’t let you fall down.
Would you let me lead, you can step on my feet.
Give it a try, it’ll be alright."
