My hands clasped under a veil, dim and hazy…

"Why are you so pale and upset?"

That’s because I today made him crazy

With the sour wine of regret.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊

we had this nuthatch, a chickadee and some chipmunks eating out of our hands at Hogsback Falls. The cardinal looked like he wanted to also be he never landed on the hand.

Taken years ago on KSA Atlantis, H22O, that sadly is no more.

The Blessing

Rain is the blessing.

Like manna from the heavens, it falls,

Gently drenching the earth,

Soothing, luscious, enlivening.

And where it falls, the earth explodes in life,

Explodes in greens and golds, in grains and fruits that ripen in the sun,

In a verdant vegetal world that nourishes eye, hand, and mouth.

Wheat is the blessing.

Wild grasses that tamed, grow tall in the summer sun,

And yield a harvest to our hand

To feed stomach and soul.

We break bread together.

Wheat creates community, fellow feeling.

It gives more than nourishment; it gives communion with the holy.

Angels too are holy, a blessing.

But even more, the hand that carves the angel,

That takes cold stone, mountain quarried, a miracle in itself,

And from it chisels flesh, and warmth, and meaning,

Creating something in which we recognize our deepest yearning

For wholeness, for holiness, for solace in the storms of life.

The artist is the blessing.

Peter and Oleg are with Mummy Marian on holiday in the Teutoburgerwald.

While Marian took a break from hiking, Peter and Oleg borrowed one of her hiking boots and went to see the ruin from above.

OLEG:

I think we should go back Peter, we are on the other side of the ruin. Besides, the sun is setting and Jan and Marian are rested from hiking by now I think

PETER::

Yep...we're going back Oleg...only I don't know how.

(Peter pokes a hole in the balloon with the safety pin. Woosh..the balloon flies with the shoe at a great speed around the ruin of Falkenburg).

OLEG: (dizzy)

This is not going to work out.

Help!!!!!!

PETER:

Don't panic Oleg...I see Jan standing there

Yoo-hoo...Jan ...here we are!

Peter waves to Jan who knows what to do

The balloon runs out of air and the shoe falls down at great speed and lands in one of the bushes. Jan's hand quickly grabs the shoe and Peter and Oleg are safe again. Apart from Oleg being pale and nauseous, they are fortunately uninjured.

I went to a woodmill some two years ago and saw a broken mirror lying discarded on the ground. It was in a musty and damp section at the back of a decaying wooden structure choked with planks and pieces of timber. I asked some of the guys there to hold the mirror up to their faces and I took some portrait photos. I finally returned to the sawmill recently (and gave the guys copies of the photos from two years earlier) and I was intrigued to see that the mirror has risen from the ashes and been promoted to pride of place on the wall.

Milky Way Over Great Chamber

It was my second attempt for night photography from this great spot since I have seen so many inspirational images from David Swindler, and lately from Jane Wei.

The sunset was skunk with overcasted sky, and we were lucky to have the sky to open a small window for milky way, so the ladies in the group were quickly making the poses in group and one by one. The cloud came back to block the whole sky in a short while. I did not even get the chance to take my selfie under the milky way. Next Time!
