Shadows on the ceiling from our fandangled light that is chrome wire, crystals and small halogen lamps.
Lighted on the right side with a halogen lamp through a nylon cage. At first I wanted to use a flash with a radio trigger device because of the distance between the camera and it. It did not work ... I'll have to reread the documentation! :-) Also, I decreased the ISOs and locked the mirror to avoid any blur when shooting.
This halogen head lamp globe on my car had to be replaced as the filament has broke.
Repeated on and off heating to brilliant high temperature to the point of giving out bright lights can cause fatigue failure.
I find it increasingly hard to find an electric bulb/globe with filaments as most are being replaced by LED or low energy fluorescent ones.
This tiny halogen globe (too small for my fat fingers to hold) was being held by a file clip against the candle light.
A standard candle gives out about 12 lumens of light while this 12V 20W halogen lamp will give out 240 lumen of light.
Yes, I'm a nerd and I know it.

Mitutoyo 100x NA 0.70, tube lens: ITL200 (Nikon)
Illumination: Halogen and white(!) LED (Ra>95)
This is a collage of 8 pictures from the very same scale, but different illumination (white light, but different incident angles and different polarization angles). This leads to the brilliant iridescence of that butterfly.
Visit the album to see some colour variants of the scales!
This butterfly is a true master in structural (physical) colors. Oblique light produces blue/aquamarin, direct illumination results in a yellow reflection. Back-illumination yields red/brown. Thus, depending on illumination angle (and polarization) any mixture between yellow and blue can be obtained. In addition to the iridecent scales, there are several "normal scales" with pigment colours from brown to orange, yellow and almost white. If you are interested in the details, here is a nature article explaining this phenomenon:
Straight up Macro shot, no Crop or Photoshop work. Halogen light on the back drop area to create the back light look, also use a spray bottle to create the water droplet, make it easier to focus and create more dof and texture on the petal, this is a super close up with 4x conversion lens. Flash used as well.

The List/Ost beacon serves as a direction and cross light for the fairway "Lister-Tief" with a leading sector for the "Hoyer Dyp". The white tower with the red ribbon was built in 1857 by the Isselburger Hütte from cast iron plates on a concrete foundation. The red lantern house is a steel construction with a copper roof. Together with its twin tower List-West, 2700 m away, they are the oldest still active lighthouses in Germany with a cast iron tower. In 1936 the gas-fired fire was converted to electric light with a light bulb. Today a metal halide lamp 230V 250W is used as a light source. A orifice generates the identifier. The tower was manned until 1977, when the fire was remote controlled by the Tönning Water and Shipping Authority.
The lighthouse List-Ost can be reached via a private road on the elbow, approx. 5 km long and toll road for motor vehicles.

Fibre-optic lighting systems transmit beams of light from a single, centralised halogen or metal halide lamp through glass or plastic fibres.
The densely packed bundles of fibres are twisted and drawn through an outer jacket to dramatically increase the amount of light that reaches the outlets.
They still fascinate me but I am less fond of those that change colours, I prefer mono, so I have these white and the one blue… so far…

As found. Halogen lamps reflecting off brushed stainless steel wall. Exposure, contrast and saturation adjustments only.
The light on our back porch burned out. I pulled the bulb out of the fixture and as I did so, it just crumbled in my hand. When I placed it on the counter, I couldn't help but notice the way the afternoon light streamed in at a perfect angle to illuminate the bulb (no pun intended) so beautifully. So on today's "to do" list I had to add: Halogen bulb for porch. But happily I got to cross "make today's photo" off the list.
Strobist info: Living room lamp, behind camera, diffused with translucent plastic; halogen lamp, behind camera right.
Just a take on all of those shots of pregnant ladies' bellies and the baby blocks. It didn't come out exactly as I had envisioned but I think this is the best I can do with my technical abilities.
For CWD: Excess. Nothing exceeds like excess, and this week we want to see what that means.

Halogen Lamp (partly made of ceramics), appeared and disappears during my life, vs ceramics is in use at least 30,000 years and never will be obsolete
A halogen lamp is an incandescent lamp with a small amount of a halogen gas, usually iodine or bromine, in an atmosphere in a quartz or aluminosilicate glass bulb. The first lamp to use halogen gas (chlorine) was patented in 1882 but the first commercial halogen lamp that used iodine as a halogen gas was patented in 1959 by General Electric. Halogen lamps are no longer considered to be energy efficient and are being phased out in many countries

Milky Way stars over 'The Organ' in the "Courthouse Towers" region of Arches National Park. The Organ has been light painted (aka light painting) from a stationary quartz halogen light (see lighting and camera position map below). The glow on the right horizon is from the moon, which will rise in another 30 minutes. Camera direction is North.

Installed Ikea's halogen under-cabinet lighting system today. Very easy, and it looks amazing. We still have to resolve the center light, sink pendant situation ... basically I just need to pick out the fixtures. Baby-steps.
