Always good storm chasing stories to tell about my weather adventures in 2014.

Days right after my knee replacement... Home from the hospital & I definitely wasn't supposed to be out and about. Knee was almost in a cast and I wasn't supposed to be doing anything to aggravate the situation. Though my quest for severe weather never ends and I wasn't going to miss another possible chase especially when its in my backyard. This storm was going to be a photogenic monster... Decision was made & off I went.

Back @ home. I waddle out to the front driveway & look due east. There are always thunderheads with storms. If your lucky enough to witness one that are simply jaw dropping your indeed lucky. Today was that day.

Personal Note *** On the original set Back in 2014 I had use the free Avery photo editor here Flickr and it wasn't the best but I had no prior knowledge of editing them back then. Only shot in .jpg format and I didn't do the best by over coloring and over saturation. Was very under experienced in photo editing back then.

Another epic set of thunderstorm captures from South Central Nebraska remastered through Lightroom and Photoshop. Though I paid for it with my knee just being replaced. I was super sore and the swelling was unreal a few days after this event. All worth it when it comes to what epic views I caught storm chasing on that particular day!

Hi-School Romance was a teen romance comic that ran from 1949 to 1958. The years following World War II saw the rise of dating as we know it today, with teenagers being given a great deal of freedom to meet each other without constant adult supervision. This is a true product of that time, full of malt shops, sock hops and double-dates. In it, starry-eyed schoolgirls do their best to win the man of their dreams. To accomplish this, however, there was always some obstacle to overcome, whether it meant fighting off a rival or merely learning how to play the game of love better.

What may be most remarkable about this series is noting how much has changed between men and women in the last few decades—as well as how much has stayed the same.

Received an interesting piece of Fan Mail a few weeks ago. With questions about what do I do when I'm not storm chasing. The author wrote, "Since you live in Nebraska & you only focus on severe weather. Do you ever do any other type of photography & videography?"

As a matter of fact I do. (This is the first time I'm ever posting this type of photography content to Flickr). I'm really in all aspects of nature. But the scenic views is what I come for. Took a few weeks off at the end of September to do a bucket list item (get to the top of Pikes Peak). Also to visit my sister & brother that live here & enjoy some quality family time with them.

Colorado Springs has some epic views. It was also one of the reasons I took our family's early fall vacation to this area of the US. The seasonal foliage was just starting & the aspens were already turning their fall colors. Those Epic Views is what I was after!

Booked our family tickets to the Broadmoor Manitou & Pikes Peak Cog Railway. The Cog has been climbing Pikes Peak since 1891. It was one of the most unique experiences that I've have ever done. This place is recognized as the world's highest cog railroad, The railway is an important part of the heritage of the Western United States.

So to the Individual that had wrote me that Fan Mail. Here is your answer. I know I don't post anything but severe weather, however I wanted to give a small sample what other photography interests that I have & do.

BTW, I & my wife got Altitude Sickness something gnarly. Took a bit to get over after the event but it was worth every second! Plus it snowed the next weekend on top of Pikes Peak.

Humid and the mosquitoes were eating me alive...

I wouldn't have to chase this evening to catch some incredible Nebraska views of this supercell that formed just to the north of Hastings Nebraska. The perfect sunlight cresting against this storm cell was perfect in every way. I knew I was in for a treat. Just a few blocks from home I set up shop!

We had a dying cell to our west creating a beautiful sunset and I would eventually get a few snaps of this. Though was pointing due east from my location on the outskirts of Kearney Nebraska. It had all of my attention. 4 Cameras in position for this event. Pointing due east I was watching these billowing thunderheads on the updraft and it was a sight to see.

I also knew then that this was going to produce come incredible lighting after dark. I was prepared and ready!

Ya que estamos buscando las huellas de Dios,

debemos buscar la voluntad de Dios,

buscar Sus palabras y Sus declaraciones,

buscar Sus palabras y Sus declaraciones.

Porque donde están Sus nuevas palabras,

ahí está Su voz, la voz de Dios.

Porque donde están las huellas de Dios,

ahí están Sus hechos, los hechos de Dios.

Donde está la expresión de Dios,

ahí está la aparición, la aparición de Dios.

Donde está la aparición de Dios,

ahí existe la verdad, el camino y la vida.

Mientras buscabais Sus huellas,

ignorasteis las palabras “Dios es la verdad, el camino y la vida”.

Por lo que, cuando muchas personas reciben la verdad,

no creen que han encontrado las huellas de Dios,

y mucho menos reconocen la aparición de Dios.

¡Qué grave error es este!

Su aparición no se puede reconciliar con las concepciones del hombre,

y mucho menos aparecer por orden del hombre.

Cuando hace Su obra, Él toma Sus decisiones,

toma Sus decisiones y hace Sus propios planes;

además, Él tiene Sus propios objetivos,

Sus propios métodos, Sus propios métodos.

No es necesario que discuta con los hombres cuando Él hace Su obra,

que busque el consejo del hombre,

y mucho menos notificar a todo el mundo.

Ese es el carácter de Dios, todos lo deben de reconocer.

III

Si queréis ser testigos de la aparición de Dios,

si queréis seguir las huellas de Dios,

entonces debéis primero trascender vuestras opiniones.

No debéis demandar que Dios haga esto o aquello,

mucho menos debéis situarlo dentro de vuestros confines,

o limitarlo a vuestras opiniones.

En cambio, debéis preguntar

cómo debéis buscar las huellas de Dios,

y aceptar Su aparición,

y cómo os debéis someter a la nueva obra de Dios.

Eso es lo que el hombre debe hacer,

lo que el hombre debe hacer.

Ya que el hombre no es la verdad,

no está en posesión, en posesión de la verdad,

el hombre debe buscar, aceptar y obedecer.

Honfleur is a commune in the Calvados department in Normandy en.normandie-tourisme.fr/normandy-tourism-109-2.html in northwestern France. It is located on the southern bank of the estuary of the Seine across from le Havre and very close to the exit of the Pont de Normandie. Its inhabitants are called Honfleurais. It is especially known for its old, beautiful picturesque port, characterized by its houses with slate-covered frontages, painted many times by artists, including in particular Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet and Johan Jongkind, forming the école de Honfleur (Honfleur school) which contributed to the appearance of the Impressionist movement. The Sainte-Catherine church, which has a bell tower separate from the principal building, is the largest church made out of wood in France. The first written record of Honfleur is a reference by Richard III, Duke of Normandy, in 1027. By the middle of the 12th century, the city represented a significant transit point for goods from Rouen to England. Located on the estuary of one of the principal rivers of France with a safe harbour and relatively rich hinterland, Honfleur profited from its strategic position from the start of the Hundred Years' War. The town's defences were strengthened by Charles V in order to protect the estuary of the Seine from attacks from the English. This was supported by the nearby port of Harfleur. However, Honfleur was taken and occupied by the English in 1357 and from 1419 to 1450. When under French control, raiding parties often set out from the port to ransack the English coasts, including partially destroying the town of Sandwich, in Kent, England, in the 1450s. At the end of the Hundred Years' War, Honfleur benefited from the boom in maritime trade until the end of the 18th century. Trade was disturbed during the wars of religion in the 16th century. The port saw the departure of a number of explorers, in particular in 1503 of Binot Paulmierde Gonneville to the coasts of Brazil. In 1506, local man Jean Denis departed for Newfoundland island and the mouth of the Saint Lawrence. An expedition in 1608, organised by Samuel de Champlain, founded the city of Quebec in modern day Canada. After 1608, Honfleur thrived on trade with Canada, the West Indies, the African coasts and the Azores. As a result, the town became one of the five principal ports for the slave trade in France. During this time the rapid growth of the town saw the demolition of its fortifications on the orders of Colbert. The wars of the French revolution and the First Empire, and in particular the continental blockade, caused the ruin of Honfleur. It only partially recovered during the 19th century with the trading of wood from northern Europe. Trade was however limited by the silting up of the entrance to the port and development of the modern port at Le Havre. The port however still functions today. Ο συγκινητικός ύμνος της βασιλείας έχει αντηχήσει, αναγγέλλοντας σε όλο το σύμπαν την άφιξη του Θεού στην ανθρωπότητα! Η βασιλεία του Θεού έχει φτάσει! Όλοι οι άνθρωποι επευφημούν, όλα αγάλλονται! Τα πάντα στους ουρανούς ξεχειλίζουν από χαρά. Τι εντυπωσιακές σκηνές αγαλλίασης είναι αυτές;

Από τους ανθρώπους που ζουν μέσα στην οδύνη και έχουν υπομείνει χιλιάδες χρόνια διαφθοράς του Σατανά, ποιος δεν λαχταρά— δεν ποθεί — την άφιξη του Θεού; Πόσοι πιστοί και ακόλουθοι του Θεού ανά τους αιώνες υπέστησαν, υπό την επιρροή του Σατανά, βάσανα και αντιξοότητες, διώξεις και αποξένωση; Ποιος δεν ελπίζει ότι η βασιλεία του Θεού θα έρθει σύντομα; Αφού γευτεί τις χαρές και τις λύπες της ανθρωπότητας, ποιος άνθρωπος δεν επιθυμεί να πρυτανεύσει η αλήθεια και η δικαιοσύνη στους ανθρώπους;

Όταν έρθει η βασιλεία του Θεού, θα φτάσει επιτέλους η μέρα που περιμένουν απεγνωσμένα όλα τα έθνη και οι λαοί! Tι σκηνές θα εκτυλιχθούν τότε στους ουρανούς και στη γη; Πόσο όμορφη θα είναι η ζωή στη βασιλεία; Με το έργο «Ο ύμνος της βασιλείας: Η βασιλεία κατέρχεται στον κόσμο», οι προσευχές χιλιετιών θα πραγματοποιηθούν.

Je me baladais au Jardin des Plantes pour y faire quelques photos, quand j'ai rencontré en fin d'après-midi ce beau canard aux ailes étranges.

Il bouge beaucoup et rapidement, il n'est pas facile à photographier !!

Et ensuite ça n'a pas été simple de trouver son nom ! Mais j'ai réussi !

L'année dernière (et il y a deux ans) j'ai photographié un canard inconnu qui lui ressemble un peu, mais ses ailes sont raides en et V, et écartées vers l'arrière du corps. J'ai vu sa photo sur le net, mais pas son nom :(

Je le posterai un jour, peut-être quelqu'un pourra l'identifier ?

I was walking in the Garden Botanical in order to take some pictures, when I met in the late afternoon this beautiful duck with strange wings.

It moves a lot and quickly, it is not easy to photograph !!

And then it was not easy to find his name! But I managed!

Last year (and two years ago) I photographed an unknown duck that looks like him a little, but its wings are stiff and in V, and discarded rearwardly of the body. I saw his picture on the net, but not its name :(

I'll post one day, maybe someone will be able identify it?

The reserve is open daily from 10.00am - 5.00pm (4.00pm in winter).

Spring

Birds: courting eider duck, spring migrants, wheatear, willow warbler, sandwich tern

Plants: flowering thrift and sea campion,

Butterflies: common blue butterfly

Summer

Birds: gull and eider ducks, nesting oystercatcher and ringed plover.

Butterflies and moths: burnet moths and grayling butterfly.

Plants: Shingle flora including viper’s bugloss, yellow horned poppy and henbane. Flowering sea lavender, heartsease pansy.

Orchids: pyramidal orchid

Autumn

Birds: migratory birds including curlew snapper, spotted redshank, redstart, wheatear, and pink footed geese.

Plants: flowering sea lavender and sea aster.

Winter

Birds: High tide roost of wader and wildfowl including knot, dunlin, grey plover and oystercatcher. Barn owl and short-eared owl, pergrine and merlin twite, feeding on salt marsh.

Birds: oystercatcher, large gull roosts/breeding colony. birds of prey

Mammals: grey seals at high tide

General: Amazing views across three counties and across the sea to the isle of man

Free admission for Wildlife Trust members. A small admission fee is payable by non-members. There are several waymarked trails on the reserve (Red trail 5km/3 miles, blue trail 3km/2 miles) No dogs are allowed on the reserve (except assistance dogs). The reserve has toilets and a number of birdwatching hides.

Directions

By car From Barrow in Furness follow signs for Walney Island. Cross Jubilee Bridge onto the Island and follow brown signs left at traffic lights, follow this road for about 1km/0.6 miles then turn left down Carr Lane. Pass Biggar Village and follow the road to the South End Caravan Site. Follow the road for a further kilometre until the reserve is reached.

By bicycle The reserve is 5km/ 3 miles from National Route 72 Walney to Wear.

By public transport Buses run from Barrow in Furness to Biggar.

Overview

South Walney forms the southern tip of a shingle island lying at the end of the Furness Peninsula. During the medieval period it was farmed by the monks of Furness Abbey, whilst during the 19th and 20th centuries salt, sand and gravel were extracted leaving large lagoons and some industrial remains.

What to see

Every spring, large numbers of lesser black backed and herring gulls still return and begin to set up nest territories. Other breeding birds include eider duck, greater black backed gull, shelduck, oystercatcher, mallard, moorhen and coot. Of the 250 bird species recorded, most are passage migrants on their way to or from breeding grounds. These include common species such as wheatear, redstart, willow warbler and gold crest, as well as more unusual species, which may have been blown off their normal migration route. In winter, large numbers of waders and wildfowl feed and roost around the nature reserve both on the gravel pools and the intertidal areas. Vegetated shingle being a highly unusual habitat, and yellow horned poppy, sea campion and biting stonecrop grow on the single beaches.

Small areas of dune grassland survive with pyramidal orchid, Portland spurge, restharrow and wild pansy. The old gravel workings have developed their own communities with striking plants such as viper's bugloss, henbane and alkanet. Saltmarsh occurs in Lighthouse Bay with species such as thrift, glasswort and sea purslane.

South Walney has been leased from Holker Estates since 1963.

A late June Storm Chase with fellow SVLMedia Chaser Myles Nelson in the Eastern Plains of Colorado. Which would eventually takes us into Kansas and back into Nebraska.

We never did catch a tornado due the RFD getting undercut. Simply meaning that it wouldn't produce just south of Yuma Colorado via Hwy 59. Once the storm became outflow dominate it was picture perfect. We had made several stops on Hwy 36 Eastbound. Beautiful structure close to Kirk Colorado and south of Wray. Pure Storm chasing eye candy!!!

Once we got into Kansas by St. Francis and Bird City we were loosing light fast but the it was picture perfect for viewing this incredible storm cell.

We had a long drive back after the last light of the day and this storm was to intensify. It did, making our trip back a little more interesting than expected. This part is not on video, but we became the hunted as this storm really intensified. There was so much lighting being fired off we could see for miles and miles as the storm was picking up steam and moving to the northeast. Relentlessly following us on our heals ever inch of the way back we were getting concerned about out safely. Once we turned east via Hwy 89 back into the southwest portion of Nebraska, we came face to face with a Tornado on the ground close to Wilsonville and another possible one north of Beaver City. That was not in the plan for that evening and it definitely got our attention.
