Napkin overlays (under) various scraps and green stamps. Is the skeleton taking her plant to the green stamp store, or is that where she got the plant with 2 stamps to spare?

The base was cut from a musical society catalog and was mostly black (including the clarinet). Various green & black scraps. I wanted to use some packing tape transfers but they got lost on the background, so I first applied them to green papers.

Two star stickers in case the starry background was too subtle. Bird from British Birds book. Gold foil candy wrapper. Numbers from a Go strategy book.

The encyclopedia had this fabulous blue whale that I wanted to use in full, so I had to find a base larger than 4x6. Luckily, this side of a kleenex box was perfect. Whale, water, walrus, wheat, water buffalo (with a non-W picture to add a blue sky-ish element).

The Iron Chancellor (Prussia's Otto von Bismarck) used his eyes to unify a piece of flower and a large cat's mouth into this postcard. The resulting empire, which he dominated for 20 minutes, became the strongest force in my outgoing mail.

Background image is William Hogarth painting "A Rake's Progress," found in the Age of Enlightenment volume from Great Ages of Man. Turns out I don't have many female stamp faces, so I changed genders of 2 of the depicted.

Gesso and gouache background. Various book clippings. Plastic (cellophane?) food packaging. Poinsettia from advent calendar. Map is from Michelin guide to the Loire Region - I like how it says TOURS (EXCURSIONS) as though that is a translation, rather than a specific map for the place named Tours.

Postcard had to include a snail and a mailbox. The mailbox is a souvenir bank from an old Canada Post catalog/brochure. Snail from an old Sandra Boynton calendar. Grass is a candy wrapper (those Lindt gianduja carrots they sell around Easter).
