I spent most of my grounding reading books with a look similar to the one in the picture for the whole week we were away in Maine. Although my mom doesn't seem too smiley either. I am sure I was a pleasure to be with that week. Circa 2000

Manukau Heads infamous tidal sandbar caused New Zealand’s most disastrous shipwreck – February 1863 grounding of warship HMS Orpheus, which claimed 185 lives.
The same signal mast was later toppled in an act (still unproven) of indigenous Maori rebellion. Treasure and relics from the Orpheus and other harbour wrecks continue to be found.
Manukau Heads Lighthouse was New Zealand’s number 12 and the first to burn paraffin (also known as Kerosene) when lit in 1874. During the following 112 years it was illuminated by oil vapor, acetylene gas, and electricity. It was, also rebuilt (1944) on a concrete base and officially ‘retired’ in 1986, when all lantern parts were paced in storage.
In 2006 the lantern and prisms were reunited in a timber replica of the original tower in it’s current location (almost 1 kilometer north of original site). It reopened as a non-working visitor experience with a symbolic relighting 132 years and 23 days from the date of inauguration

BEST Grounding Module
Performance and characteristics of BEST grounding module:
The low-resistance grounding module is a non-metallic material-based grounding body composed of non-metallic minerals with good conductivity and chemical stability, metal ground rods, electrolytes and humectants.
Ground Module performance and characteristics
1. The contact resistance is greatly reduced.
The main material of the grounding module is similar to the physical structure of the soil, and can be integrated with the soil, so that the effective contact area between the grounding body and the soil is increased by many times compared with that between the traditional metal grounding body and soil, which has increased the flow area of the grounding body itself and greatly reduced contact resistance of the grounding body to the soil.
2. The grounding resistance is stable
The grounding module has strong moisture absorption and moisturizing ability, ensuring that the grounding module can effectively play the conductive function. At the same time, the conductive characteristics of the grounding body are not affected by the weather changes such as dry humidity, high and low humidity. Therefore, it can provide a stable low grounding resistance.
Ground Module
3. Reduce ground potential counterattack
The non-metallic material in the grounding module forms a low-resistance region with a gentle change between the metal and the soil with a large difference in electrical resistivity. When encountering a large current surge, the potential gradient of the grounding body and the grounding wire can be lowered to lower the step voltage and the contact voltage so as to reduce the probability of counterattack of the ground potential.
4. Long service life
The main material of the grounding module is similar to the physical structure of the soil, and can be integrated with the soil, so that the effective contact area between the grounding body and the soil is increased by many times compared with that between the traditional metal grounding body and soil, which has increased the flow area of the grounding body itself and greatly reduced contact resistance of the grounding body to the soil.
5. Simple construction and installation
Compared with the traditional metal grounding device, the construction work is greatly reduced.
Ground module use range:
1. Working grounding, safe grounding and lightning protection for power plants, substations, switching stations, high-voltage transmission lines, electrified railways, telecommunications, mobile communication base stations, microwave relay stations, ground satellite receiving stations and radar stations;
2. Working grounding and protective grounding for valuable precision instruments, computer room equipment, postal and telecommunications program control equipment, radio and television equipment, and electronic medical equipment;
3. Lightning protection of various high-rise buildings, tall structures, scenic ancient buildings and tall memorial towers;
4. Lightning protection of oil pipelines, oil and gas tanks, and inflammable and explosive material warehouses.
Ground Module usage method:
1. The low-resistance grounding module can be vertically embedded or horizontally embedded, and the embedded depth should not be less than 0.6 m, generally 0.8- 1.0 m.
2. When several modules are embedded in parallel, the module spacing should not be less than 4.0 meters. If the conditions are not allowed, it can be appropriately reduced. At the same time, the value of the module utilization coefficient should be reduced when the amount of module is calculated.
3. When the module pole cores are connected in parallel or connected to the ground wire, they must be welded, with the welding length no less than 100mm.
4. The welding slag should be removed at the weld, coated with anti-corrosive conductive paint or wrapped with HD-JZ high-efficiency swelling resistance-reducing agent.
5. During backfilling, it should be sprinkled with water in an appropriate amount, tamped in layers and watered again after backfilling. Meanwhile, the grounding resistance should be measured after the module is fully hygroscopically absorbed (72 hours).
Ground Module Specifications:
Product NameModel No.DimensionWeight(KG)Note
Cyliner Graphite mouldBSD-GMCD160*80030
D260*100050
Plum blossom Graphite mouldBSD-GM-PBD160*80030
D260*100050
Square graphite mouldBSD-GM-FS500*400*6020
Precautions；
1. The storage module should maintain a certain humidity to avoid high temperature, dryness and explosion;
2. External force should be avoided to damage modules during transportation and installation;
3. In cold areas, the module should be embedded below the frozen layer.
Usage calculation
According to the soil resistivity of the grounding network soil layer, the amount of HD-GO grounding module is calculated by the following formula; horizontal embedding, single module grounding resistance: total grounding resistance after parallel connection.
BEST grounding module
In the formula
ρ- soil resistivity (Ω.m)
a and b- length and width of the grounding module (m)
Rj- single module grounding resistance (Ω)
Rnj- total grounding resistance (Ω)
n- number of grounding modules
η- module adjustment factor, generally 0.6 -0.9

The "Longone" already stripped four days after it's grounding on the rocks of Spirit's Bay, NZ.
According to the Northland Ages report on January 28th, 2010:
While the owner of this yacht tried to deliver people to the Spirits Bay Beach, gusty winds and a large swell sealed the fate of "The Longone".
And to add insult to injury, only one person on the beach offered assistance. No sooner was the yacht grounded on the rocks, did other by-standers immediately start looting. Taking anything from electronics to clothing and food. The paper goes on to compare the looters like locusts grabbing everything.
No one was injured and the yacht was insured and this is the important thing.
Another story was published in the same newspaper on February 7, 2010 with another side to the story from people on the beach. There is now contradiction to the original story and the chain of events.

This photo captures a moment inside a martial arts dojo in Sattahip District, Chon Buri Province, Thailand. In the foreground, a young student wearing a white gi with a green belt is crouched low on a blue training mat, practicing what appears to be a grounding or balance technique with hands and feet pressed against the floor. Standing nearby is an instructor, identifiable by the black belt around his white uniform, observing the student's form. The background reveals typical dojo equipment, including a blue heavy punching bag suspended from the ceiling and wooden training staffs (bo staffs) arranged in a rack along the wall. Natural light filters in through windows, illuminating the training space and creating a calm, focused atmosphere typical of traditional martial arts practice.

In the season of Lightning storms, the lightning strike can cause more damage than you think to any industry. In case of telecommunication towers, everyone agrees that grounding is important for telecommunication towers to reduce the occurrence of lightning damage but, paradoxically, very few sites have good grounds. LEC technologies have proven to be more than 99.87% effective in eliminating all strikes to the protected areas with their patented Chem-Rod. Minimize one significant threat from your list of concerns by assessing lightning exposure and taking action. Contact us today: www.lightningprotection.com/grounding-rod-can-save-your-l...
