BRP Gregorio del Pilar (FF-15) is a frigate of the Philippine Navy and the lead ship of her class. She was the second ship of the Philippine Navy to be named after Gregorio del Pilar, a Filipino revolutionary general known for his role at the Battle of Tirad Pass. She was originally designated as "PF-15" from 2011 to mid-2016 when the PN adapted a new code designation, which re-designated her to "FF-15".
From 1967–2011 the ship was a Hamilton-class high endurance cutter of the United States Coast Guard that was named USCGC Hamilton (WHEC-715). The U.S. decommissioned the cutter on March 28, 2011 and the Philippines acquired it under the Excess Defense Articles and the Foreign Assistance Act and is one of three ex-US Coast Guard Hamilton-class cutters to serve the Philippine Navy.

I spent most of my grounding reading books with a look similar to the one in the picture for the whole week we were away in Maine. Although my mom doesn't seem too smiley either. I am sure I was a pleasure to be with that week. Circa 2000

I practice *grounding* myself when I run barefoot to Crystal Pier. Most of my life has been in friendship with the ocean. Crystal Pier is also *grounded* here as she absorbs the 'energy' of the sea. I love to feel the well-worn pilings of this beloved pier...pilings that were made by people long gone now. I reflect in peace and gratitude here before running back to the jetty...

Last time we took a walk on the wild side as we focused on the act of “being” and the importance of grounding oneself while looking inward for healing, prior to addressing the needs of our planet. Lynn’s plans for an earlier return meant some of our issues became quite urgent, and this put pressure on our correspondence. But some emotional pressures had been lifted: our ten days together in America had sealed our love by grounding it in Lynn’s world as it had already been grounded in mine. Certainty now replaced hope; ‘if’ had been replaced by ‘when’.
So while we wrote fewer letters, their content was denser, more practical, such as results of research into visas and work permits. And then there was the slight matter of wedding arrangements. Where and by whom? I wasn’t a churchgoer, and I wasn’t even resident in the city. The only priest known to both Lynn and me was Dean Patey, but his church was a cathedral, which would surely pose extraordinary obstacles. Towards the end of January, I went to see him. He was so pleased to renew our old bonds. We chatted about a world première of ‘Lost & Found’ in the cathedral, and a revival of the much-loved Miracle.
Then I mentioned that Lynn and I were planning to get married and we’d be very happy if he would conduct the service in the Lady Chapel of his cathedral. Patey grinned from ear to ear. “Why,” he said, “it’d be a pleasure and a privilege!” He said wonderful things like: “We’ll be able to make a real show of it!” and “Do let me know if you can think of any ideas to make the service interesting.” He was genuinely excited. The cathedral wasn’t licensed for weddings so we’d have to have a civil ceremony first in the registry office, but Patey believed this should be the pattern for all weddings, since it makes them “more religiously whole”.
I was desperate in my letters to tell Lynn everything I did, and in particular everyone I met and the places I went – such as kinetic theatre sessions at Great Georges (a converted church) led by Bill Harpe. I didn’t want anything to be totally strange to Lynn when she returned. This is why I know so many details that in reality I’ve forgotten, for they’re in my letters of this period. (Actually, I do remember Bill Harpe, who looked like a mandarin missionary with his wispy ginger goatee!)

We've called this place Jing Falls, after the Chinese word for sexual energy. It's certainly Pan-ish in those woods, and you can see one obvious reason why.
