I spent most of my grounding reading books with a look similar to the one in the picture for the whole week we were away in Maine. Although my mom doesn't seem too smiley either. I am sure I was a pleasure to be with that week. Circa 2000

I practice *grounding* myself when I run barefoot to Crystal Pier. Most of my life has been in friendship with the ocean. Crystal Pier is also *grounded* here as she absorbs the 'energy' of the sea. I love to feel the well-worn pilings of this beloved pier...pilings that were made by people long gone now. I reflect in peace and gratitude here before running back to the jetty...

Last time we took a walk on the wild side as we focused on the act of “being” and the importance of grounding oneself while looking inward for healing, prior to addressing the needs of our planet. Until the individual is of sound mind & body there is no way to truly help others or tackle the big issues, such as saving our home planet.

Lynn’s plans for an earlier return meant some of our issues became quite urgent, and this put pressure on our correspondence. But some emotional pressures had been lifted: our ten days together in America had sealed our love by grounding it in Lynn’s world as it had already been grounded in mine. Certainty now replaced hope; ‘if’ had been replaced by ‘when’.
So while we wrote fewer letters, their content was denser, more practical, such as results of research into visas and work permits. And then there was the slight matter of wedding arrangements. Where and by whom? I wasn’t a churchgoer, and I wasn’t even resident in the city. The only priest known to both Lynn and me was Dean Patey, but his church was a cathedral, which would surely pose extraordinary obstacles. Towards the end of January, I went to see him. He was so pleased to renew our old bonds. We chatted about a world première of ‘Lost & Found’ in the cathedral, and a revival of the much-loved Miracle.
Then I mentioned that Lynn and I were planning to get married and we’d be very happy if he would conduct the service in the Lady Chapel of his cathedral. Patey grinned from ear to ear. “Why,” he said, “it’d be a pleasure and a privilege!” He said wonderful things like: “We’ll be able to make a real show of it!” and “Do let me know if you can think of any ideas to make the service interesting.” He was genuinely excited. The cathedral wasn’t licensed for weddings so we’d have to have a civil ceremony first in the registry office, but Patey believed this should be the pattern for all weddings, since it makes them “more religiously whole”.
I was desperate in my letters to tell Lynn everything I did, and in particular everyone I met and the places I went – such as kinetic theatre sessions at Great Georges (a converted church) led by Bill Harpe. I didn’t want anything to be totally strange to Lynn when she returned. This is why I know so many details that in reality I’ve forgotten, for they’re in my letters of this period. (Actually, I do remember Bill Harpe, who looked like a mandarin missionary with his wispy ginger goatee!)

Manukau Heads Lighthouse was New Zealand’s number 12 and the first to burn paraffin (also known as Kerosene) when lit in 1874. During the following 112 years it was illuminated by oil vapor, acetylene gas, and electricity. It was, also rebuilt (1944) on a concrete base and officially ‘retired’ in 1986, when all lantern parts were paced in storage.
In 2006 the lantern and prisms were reunited in a timber replica of the original tower in it’s current location (almost 1 kilometer north of original site). It reopened as a non-working visitor experience with a symbolic relighting 132 years and 23 days from the date of inauguration

In the morning, executive coaches and leadership experts Susan Dunlap and Kathleen Loehr joined the group to lead them through centering, grounding, and commitment exercises as they articulated their mission statements for participating in the program. After the session, the class traveled to the U.S. Department of State, where they shared their mission statements and met with government leaders, including Alyson Grunder, deputy assistant secretary for policy in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and Matt McMahon, sports diplomacy division chief. To end the day, delegates visited DPI Adaptive Fitness, where they went through an adapted workout with expert trainer Devon Palermo and his team. The workout included cardio boxing and circuit training, and the trainers provided the group with information as to how they can develop and support adaptive sports activities in their communities.

There is no more "organic" combination of colors for me then this. Two of my favorite stones, combined together in this 18 inches long necklace.
Green kyanite has very unique look - it's not bright green, but it shimmers from withing with warm glow.
Smoky quartz is absolutely perfect in almost any combination, it is grounding and reassuring.

Performance and characteristics of BEST grounding module:
The low-resistance grounding module is a non-metallic material-based grounding body composed of non-metallic minerals with good conductivity and chemical stability, metal ground rods, electrolytes and humectants.
Ground Module performance and characteristics
1. The contact resistance is greatly reduced.
The main material of the grounding module is similar to the physical structure of the soil, and can be integrated with the soil, so that the effective contact area between the grounding body and the soil is increased by many times compared with that between the traditional metal grounding body and soil, which has increased the flow area of the grounding body itself and greatly reduced contact resistance of the grounding body to the soil.
2. The grounding resistance is stable
The grounding module has strong moisture absorption and moisturizing ability, ensuring that the grounding module can effectively play the conductive function. At the same time, the conductive characteristics of the grounding body are not affected by the weather changes such as dry humidity, high and low humidity. Therefore, it can provide a stable low grounding resistance.

4. Lightning protection of oil pipelines, oil and gas tanks, and inflammable and explosive material warehouses.
Ground Module usage method:
1. The low-resistance grounding module can be vertically embedded or horizontally embedded, and the embedded depth should not be less than 0.6 m, generally 0.8- 1.0 m.
2. When several modules are embedded in parallel, the module spacing should not be less than 4.0 meters. If the conditions are not allowed, it can be appropriately reduced. At the same time, the value of the module utilization coefficient should be reduced when the amount of module is calculated.
3. When the module pole cores are connected in parallel or connected to the ground wire, they must be welded, with the welding length no less than 100mm.
4. The welding slag should be removed at the weld, coated with anti-corrosive conductive paint or wrapped with HD-JZ high-efficiency swelling resistance-reducing agent.
5. During backfilling, it should be sprinkled with water in an appropriate amount, tamped in layers and watered again after backfilling. Meanwhile, the grounding resistance should be measured after the module is fully hygroscopically absorbed (72 hours).

The "Longone" already stripped four days after it's grounding on the rocks of Spirit's Bay, NZ.
According to the Northland Ages report on January 28th, 2010:
While the owner of this yacht tried to deliver people to the Spirits Bay Beach, gusty winds and a large swell sealed the fate of "The Longone".
And to add insult to injury, only one person on the beach offered assistance. No sooner was the yacht grounded on the rocks, did other by-standers immediately start looting. Taking anything from electronics to clothing and food. The paper goes on to compare the looters like locusts grabbing everything.
No one was injured and the yacht was insured and this is the important thing.
Another story was published in the same newspaper on February 7, 2010 with another side to the story from people on the beach. There is now contradiction to the original story and the chain of events.

Long gone and damaged beyond repair, grounded at Spirits Bay surrounded by conflict and controversy. Anyway you look at it, sad to see her sitting amongst the rocks.
