The grounding rods filled with electrolytic salt come with an exothermically welded tail. The LECWELD requires no outside power source or equipment for lightning safety installation. The stock horns are grounded thru their base. For the Hellas, you need to complete the ground circuit by running wire from the ground spade connector to the base or similar ground source. This seemed to be the simplest location so I went with it.
BEST Grounding Module
Performance and characteristics of BEST grounding module:
The low-resistance grounding module is a non-metallic material-based grounding body composed of non-metallic minerals with good conductivity and chemical stability, metal ground rods, electrolytes and humectants.
Ground module use range:
1. Working grounding, safe grounding and lightning protection for power plants, substations, switching stations, high-voltage transmission lines, electrified railways, telecommunications, mobile communication base stations, microwave relay stations, ground satellite receiving stations and radar stations;

I recently ordered a nice pair of nice deerskin "grounding shoes" from "Barefoot Sue", similar to the "Neoprene Barebottom Shoes" I bought from them a couple of years ago and have worn off and on in warm weather.
I haven't worn them yet except in the house, it has been far too cold. On their website I also saw neoprene socks, actually wearable as shoes, they claimed, but intended either for those who do polar bear swimming (not me!) or as boot liners to keep your feet warm on hikes in bitter weather.
Since they were inexpensive, I bought a pair. But this is not what I expected them to look like. Apparently designed by a fan of Sponge Bob Square Pants! I haven't had the nerve to wear them in public without shoes, and never tried them with any of my "too large" footwear yet. (They certainly won't fit in any of my much more common "too small" shoes!)
Hey, it would be interesting to wear these with one of my pair of shoes with the completely burst out sides.

I finally managed to get this old turntable that's been sitting in my closet for the past few months to start working. It's amazing how clearly one can think when he doesn't sleep at night.
As it turned out, all I needed to do was make a grounding cable and find something with a ground. I made the grounding cable by taking a 1/4 jack from an old pair of ear phones, twist all the wires together and attach that to about two and a half feet of a couple strands of copper wire from a cat-5 cable. I grounded the turntable using the ground on a guitar cord connected to my guitar amplifier. I was amazed. The annoying hum is completely gone. The only tone that comes from the turntable is from the record itself.

With the power turned off, Lisa points to the the two green wires now connected to ground. To her astonishment when she opened the box to replace the busted 20A outlet, neither outlet's ground wires were connected to ground.

Grounding rod’s only purpose in life is to have a designated electrical path to dissipate a static discharge voltage (such as lightning) to earth. In event of a lightning strike, the lightning protection system is there to protect the entire site. To make this system effective a very low impedance earth ground connection that is designed to carry the current to the earth safely, is required.
