St. George's chapel, established circa 1775. George Washington’s brother Samuel, who built Harewood, served as senior warden until a new church was built after Charles Town was established by George and Samuel's youngest brother, Charles. This chapel was abandoned in favor of the new church, and the only surviving artifact from the chapel's interior is a communion table now at Zion Episcopal Church in Charles Town. It hurts to walk but it feels pretty good to skate

Point Lookout Lightouse, lit in 1830, deactivated in 1966. Today located in Point Lookout State Park, the area was also a landing zone for the British during the War of 1812, a Civil War hospital and POW camp, and a early 20th century hotel. A Futuro home on the grounds of the Pink Elephant Antique Mall. Built in Finland during the 1960s and 1970s, only 100 were ever constructed, and of those, only about 60 still survive. The Pink Elephant Antique Mall is a modern roadside attraction. It opened in the old Livingston High School building after the school closed in 2004 after consolidating with another school. Route 66 was established in 1926 as the core of the new U.S. highway system and ran from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California. It was decommssioned in 1985 after the completion of the interstate system. Vast lenghts of it are preserved today as "Historic Route 66" by the states it ran through. Livingston, Illinois. Albus the Crab and the statue of Tom Landry, head coach of the Dallas Cowboys from 1960 - 1988. Among his other career accomplishments, Landry led the Cowboys to their first Super Bowl win when they clocked the Miami Dolphins 24 - 3 during Super Bowl VI on January 16, 1972. Discovered during the construction of I-90 in the 1970s, the Vore Buffalo Jump is the only known sinkhole used as a mass hunting trap by American Indians for catching bison. Excavations date its use to a 300 year period from 1500 to about 1800. The site is named for the former land owners, the Vore family, who donated the land to create a foundation dedicated to preserving the interpreting the site..

Fort Jefferson on Garden Key in the Dry Tortugas. Fort Jefferson is the largest, most powerful masonry fort in the entire United States and was designed to maintain control of the entry way (and some nearby deep water anchorages) to the Gulf of Mexico. Built from 1846 - 1975 out of more than 16 million bricks, it was never finished. Dr. Samuel Mudd was held here for nearly four years after setting the broken legg of John Wilkes Boothe following the assasination of President Lincoln. Nearly 70 miles west of Key West, the Dry Tortugas mark the end of the third largest barrier reef in the world. (Nathanael Miller, 26 July 2017)

Located in Ashwaubenon, just outside of Green Bay, the National Railroad Museum was founded in 1956. Among the rolling stock featured is the Dwight D. Eisenhower, a British LNER Class A4 steam locomotive of the type that pulled IKE's command train during WWII; the engine is attached to two cars that actually were part of IKE's command train. Also featured is one of the biggest steam engine ever built, Union Pacific's Big Boy (an American Locomotive Company 4000-class 4-8-8-4), and the Aerotrain, a failed high-speed train built by General Motors in the mid-1950s. Ranger Robert Petersen introduces the story of the Wright Brothers to visitors at the Wright-Dunbar Interpretetive Center. The center incorporates the building where Orville began the operation of the brothers' early newspaper business. USS Missouri (BB 63). Third of the Iowa-class battleships, she was commissioned in 1944 and decommsioned for the final time in 1992. Now permanently berthed as a musuem in the spot where USS Oklahoma was tied up when Pearl Harbor was attacked in 1941, the Japanese surrender ending World War II was signed aboard her in 1945..

The U.S. Air Force Armament Museum was founded in 1975. It is the only musuem dedicated primarily to the armaments carried by the Air Force, and boasts a collection of over 30 aircraft (U.S. and a few foreign), as well as hundreds of examples of munitions used by aerial warfare through history. The Robert Scruggs House was built on the battlefiled circa 1828. Although significantly expanded over time, the original walls were preserved in the renovations, allowing the park service to restore it to its early 19th-century appearance as a rare example of the typical yeoman farm cabins that dotted the early American landscape. Established in 1929, Cowpens National Battlefield preserves the land American Brig. General Daniel Morgan clocked the daylights out of a superior British force under Lt. Col. Banastre Tarleton Jan. 17, 1781, during the British' Southern Campaign. The battle was a signficant American victory and helped put British General Lord Cornwalllis on the path that eventually led to Yorktown The battle was named for the field which farmers used to pen cattle while fattening them up prior to sending them to market in Charleston.
