I tried a first time vertical panorama shot with my IPhone 7S here just south of the Botanic Gardens Bookshop at the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney on September 17th 2017.
This is indeed a monster tree for this species and is being managed by gardens horticulture staff to keep Armillaria sp. or Honey Fungus at bay, always a problem in popular Botanic Gardens such as Sydney.

大雪山國家森林遊樂區位於台中市和平區，為雪山山脈西南向主稜的後段，海拔高度由最高的小雪山走向西南的鞍馬山、船型山及稍來山延伸至約1000公尺的稍來溪溪谷，早年為台灣中部地區重要的林場，現今規劃為森林遊樂區，為中部著名的避暑勝地。
大雪山森林遊樂區由於林相豐富，不同海拔分別可見暖帶、溫帶及寒帶三種森林植被分佈，各有獨特的生態，自然景觀多樣，是遊客登山健行、享受森林浴步道的良好選擇，雲海及晚霞亦負負盛名，更是賞鳥的好地點。
This is probably the biggest diameter tree I've ever seen in Minnesota. It's an eastern cottonwood. The area is in the Minnesota River floodplain, so the trees have to grow remarkably tall remarkably quickly to avoid being damaged by the spring floods. The area where this tree was growing had been historically cultivated farmland (until the 40's or 50's) This just goes to show how incredibly quickly cottonwood trees grow.
Photo taken at Chamberlain Woods Scientific and Natural Area. This area of the SNA is formerly cultivated, but very effectively regenerating floodplain forest. Also, there is a good portion of the site that is unaltered floodplain forest with an extremely high canopy of GIANT cottonwoods and basswoods. The site also includes and old growth pin oak/bur oak woodland with an absolutely breathtaking display of spring ephemeral forest flowers

This is a photo of the largest tree in Cathedral Grove (MacMillan Provincial Park) west of Parksville, British Columbia, Canada. It is a Douglas Fir and is larger than the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Cabeza de Vaca is the name of this tree - after the explorer/slave/humanitarian. A tree with a name is more difficult to cut down than one that stands and falls nameless.

Lahaina Banyan Court Park is a public park located at the corner of Front Street and Canal Street in the town of Lahaina, Hawaii. Commonly called Banyan Tree Park, Sheriff William Owen Smith planted an Indian banyan tree in the courtyard square in 1873 to memorialize the 50th anniversary of the first American Protestant mission in Lahaina. The banyan tree has become the largest banyan tree in Hawaii, and one of the largest in the United States. Its extensive trunk and aerial root system now covers 0.66 acres.
