For FGR - Flying Feet.

"Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed- interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing sprit- crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing you last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life...

But why would I want to do a thing like that?"

-John Hodge

Great movie, and a great book.

Today, I might have a new choice for work... and I'm praying it can go though.

FGR - Doodle Me :)

I sure wish my head would shut off sometimes :) I mean, give me a break once in awhile? I really am a good egg, I swear!

I had a long write-up for you all, but it sounded like a lot of self-pity and I know this is for me as much, if not more, as it is for you. So I deleted it all, and let it be. I am just in a crap mood, sad/depressed or something. It will pass tho! Thanks for encouraging me gang! I'll try and stick with this 365ness, it's one of the things that lifts my spirits most of the time!

I decided to add this to this week's Musically Challenged

Soul to Squeeze - Red Hot Chili Peppers

...Where I go I just don't know

I might end up somewhere in Mexico.

When I find my piece of mind

I'm gonna keep you for the end of time....

(Compleeeetteeeely how I feel right now.)

Today's FGR pick is face-down Tuesday, and fuck if I didn't think of Ryan when I went to do this shot. So in a proper tribute to him, I thought I'd use this space to ramble on and liberally throw in the the fucking swear words. Perhaps I could also piss a few people off, but I'm not going to get a gaggle of female admirers the way that he does.

Shot in hand - me lying on the fucking ground outside of my apartment. Lying sprawled over a newly painted speedbump. Because I'm a bit more of a chickenshit than Ryan, I had my friend keep watch for me so I didn't get run over - despite the fact that this is a quiet spot on the end of campus.

You know what's weird? I think I was the first person to ever comment on one of Ryan's 365 shots. He started the same month as me - though it's going to be ages before he actually gets his last shot up because he's so damn behind in posting them. I remember noticing his kick-ass tattoos in that shot and sympathising with the mass of bills he had in his hands. (I'm too damn lazy to actually go back and check if that really was his first shot and if I really was the first person to comment, but it doesn't really matter anyways - if I'm wrong, I'm wrong and I'm sure someone will tell me so here.)

So yeah - Ryan's photostream is pretty interesting. He's pissed me off more times than I can say for ranting about something he knows jack shit about. Or for ranting on and on about some shit that everyone and their fucking dog rants about. He clearly can be a real ass at times. But he's touched me even more often for his honesty. And for his love of his daughter. And he really does put himself out there a lot (though I sometimes think he might be prodded on by the masses of cooing female admirers who swoon every time he 'opens up').

Anyways - I hope you like the tribute, Ryan. If you even see it. And if you do, you probably won't read the text anyways.

The album below? One of my favourites by a singer from Papua New Guinea. If you're into reggae at all, you'll like it. You can buy it on iTunes - give it a try. My favourite is Kairak Medley. Part of the chorus says something like I'm pleading with you to feel for me (aka - give me money) because of my trip to the courthouse about the fight. (It doesn't translate well, and in all honesty - my translation might be a bit off...) The video below isn't from this album, but I can't find a video of any of the songs on the internet. And it's actually not even a video - just a still picture with the words going across the screen. And they're not in English. But it will give you a general idea of his style.

For Flickr Group Roulette and Peace is Not Just a Word.

I'm normally a very optimistic person, but I don't believe we'll ever achieve world peace. It's a nice thing to work towards, but it's not even a concept I can wrap my mind around! There will always be disagreements and wars because people live passionately when it comes to what they believe in. So world peace is a tall order! But I do believe I can be at peace with myself. I don't live with regret. I recognize my flaws but don't live in obsession over them. I love my body they way it is, even with its imperfections. I'm grateful for my talents. I'm at peace with my family. I embrace my friends and even people who are different from me. If we could somehow find a little more peace with ourselves there might be a little less chaos in the world!

So go ahead and give peace a chance.

I am THE GayFabulous Dork!

http://david.gano.org

Surprise Mom. Perhaps not :)

Today flickr group roulette is beating the hell out of us, and the groups Rainbows Can Be Straight and Dorks United, as well as celebrating Maitexu's 21st birthday -- and we're calling today GayFabulous.

Well, since I already AM... and HAVE BEEN gayfabulous for years (seriously -- ask my butt boy) -- I almost took a standard self portrait :) The problem, of course, is the names of the groups -- rainbows can be straight? Seriously -- I had no idea :)

I am a bit of a dork though -- I wear this hat and this expression most of the time.

So, um... don't tell Tom I called him "butt boy", ok? He'll cut me off.

[time passes...] next day...

I'm browsing through SomeBear's photostream and he's got a link to I'm Yours by Jason Mraz. I'm in love again with the m.r.a.z.

Had to be a quick shot today so I couldn't get it exactly how I wanted but I couldn't miss FGR's birthday! I did have a different shot planned which I still want to do if I can fit it in but I couldn't really pass up the chance to do another stripy sock shot...

For FGR's Studio To My Soul

If and when our little business picks up this is the sorta spot I'd like to set up shop. It's a corner shop with windows to both sides and on a main intersection. I would've shot from the corner itself but there was a big ol' trash thingie from the construction. From the looks of it, the space would be more than enough for the regular portrait / models / babies / commercial sessions - but not enough for cars - which the hubs dabbles in here and there..

Anyway, yea.. some day.

My car trunk was my tripod (not shown) b/c there was a bit of a drizzle, and my trunk lifts, so I used that as the umbrella to my car. Of course, that just called more attention to me. :P

For Flickr Group Roulette: People Watching TV.

My favorite TV show right now is reruns of the old Canadian teen drama Degrassi Junior High. I downloaded them and am watching them on my computer. I'm almost done with the 3 seasons of Degrassi Junior High and ready to move on to Degrassi High.

I sing the Zit Remedy's top hit "Everybody Wants Something" all the freaking time.

The character I most relate to is Caitlin: the good girl with a rebellious streak who sometimes takes action without thinking it through sufficiently. I feel like Caitlin and I would be the best of friends if I were Canadian and wore funny '80s clothes.

For FGR - My Favorite Word (And/Or Other Words That I Enjoy).

Fuck is my most favourite word. It may not be the most polite, but it's one of the most versatile words in the dictionary. I also find the word to be hilarious, and how people become so offended by a simple four letter word.

Later, I will add some of my other favourite words, that are not swear words. :)

This is my first upload from this camera, and the first time ever that I've used an SLR. All I can say is that I'm so totally in love with it. I never thought I would feel this way, but I'm definitely a changed woman. I can't wait to play with it more! :D

Fuck, I love my new camera! hehe

For 365 Days, FGR, TRP, and February's Alphabet Fun.

February 13th - Superstitions, Friday the 13th, and The Letter M.

M is for mourning.

Abby was born in a litter of 3 kittens to the neighborhood cats of friends I went to school with. When she was a mere 2 weeks old I met her for the first time and chose her to be my future pet. After a month of waiting and utter impatience (I was 12 years old) I got to take her home when she was 6 weeks old. I remember wanting her to sleep with me the first night but did not want her peeing in my bed, so my dad set up the air mattress in the spare room and we slept there together her first 3 nights. By the 4th night she was totally over it and was content in roaming around the house to learn more about her new home.

At the time I'd had an obsession with Garfield and had originally wanted to adopt a tabby cat and name it after him. Because Abby's orange-colored sibling was already spoken for, I'd chosen her with the intent to name her Nermal. My dad tried to talk me out of it, telling me that down the line I would really regret naming her that. I didn't understand why, nor care, but he wouldn't let it go. I finally settled on his idea to name her Abby. He got the idea from the movie Young Frankenstein, and the scene where Igor is sent to steal a particular brain from an organ bank and chooses the one labeled "ABNORMAL - Do not use," telling the doctor it was from a person named "Abby Normal." This became Abby's full name, attributed to her - in my dad's opinion - abnormal and eccentric cat behavior.

Our house had a cat door in the door going from the house to the garage and we taught her to go through it so she could play in the garage at her leisure (my last cat was hit and killed by a car so Abby was strictly an indoor cat). She had no trouble going through the door into the garage, but for some reason she could not figure out how to get back into the house. We'd suddenly hear pawing and scratching at the door and knew we needed to let her in. There were a few times when we'd forget to lock the cat door before leaving, and we'd come home and open the garage to pull the car in and see her race out into the front yard. We'd end up chasing her around the corner until catching her and dragging her back home.

Abby getting out of the house accidentally became a frequent happening during the first year of her life. Whether she was escaping out of the garage or sneaking out the front door when we'd open it to go out or let someone in, we'd always end up around the corner at the end of the court cornering her until we could get close enough to grab her. Sometimes we'd have to reach underneath a car to get her; she was always stubborn to catch. There was another time she was sitting on the window sill in my dad's room and resting against the screen (the window was open). She ended up putting too much weight against the screen and popped it out of the window frame and she fell out of the window and into the backyard. It wasn't until we couldn't find her anywhere in the house that we realized what had happened. Luckily, she had no idea how to climb trees or fences so when we got back there we found her casually laying in the grass.

On my 13th birthday I thought it would be funny to tie one of my birthday balloons to her tail and see her drag it around as she walked. Abby did not find it funny at all and was scared by the tall mylar object attached to her rear. She'd try to run from it but it would "follow" her, and the faster she ran and the more the balloon chased after her, the more freaked out she got. She ended up in the kitchen, peeing on the floor, scratching the hell out of my dad as he tried to hold her down and cut the ribbon off from her tail. I wasn't allowed to tie anything to her body after that.

After she was spayed, Abby started a trend of laying on her back with all four paws stretched out. We'd find her in that position on the couch, on the bed, on the floor, and once up against the wall in the hallway. My dad placed one of his miniature Corona Beer salt and pepper shakers next to her and she looked like a little drunk person. Sometimes we really wondered if she was a little crack kitty.

I grew to love the abnormalities of her character and my dad would just laugh at her. We adopted Jerry when I was a senior in high school, and the adjustment was very difficult for Abby. She did not like people she didn't know, let alone other animals, and it was years before her hostility toward Jerry calmed and she was able to tolerate sharing the same piece of furniture with him. After 6 years of living together they never really became best friends, but they were able to figure out a way to live cohesively and keep the hissing and scratching attempts to a minimum (all her, btw).

Just recently there started to be noticeable changes in her behavior that were uncharacteristic, even for her. She'd lost some weight, wasn't moving around the house much, and Eric noticed she wasn't eating. She seemed slightly lethargic, didn't have much interest in anything going on around her, and she started peeing on the bathroom rugs. Yesterday I came home to find her on our bed, lying in her own urine. I carried her to the kitchen to sit her down in front of her food and water and she was not able to stand or sit or keep her own balance. I took her to the vet in the afternoon and found her jaundiced, dehydrated, nauseated, and her urine was bright yellow and her liver felt enlarged. Blood work found her highly anemic with a high count of red blood cells. X-rays showed her liver was definitely enlarged but no masses were found. It was difficult to determine whether she had a form of cancer, hepatitis, or her immune system was just shutting down.

I took her home with an IV catheter in her arm, a cone around her head, and injections of antibiotics and steroids in her system. She was incredibly weak, moved only ever so slightly from her laying position, and moaned sounds of pain and discomfort. She did not sleep at all, and I barely did either. We went straight back to the vet this morning as ordered by the doctor and found her condition to be worse. She was deteriorating, and fast.

She was obviously, obviously suffering and I didn't want her to go through anymore. I made the decision to euthanize her, and it ended up being the right one. Her vitals were falling so quickly that she almost died in my arms before the injections were administered, and she went to sleep quickly and peacefully. It was so difficult to watch - feeling like there was nothing more I could do for her - yet, knowing I was doing the best thing for her I could do: ending her pain and discomfort.

I'm not typically a superstitious person, but I can't ignore the fact that I lost her today, Friday the 13th. She had her moments of terror; there had been times that I'd wanted to ring her little neck for causing some of the trouble that she did, but she was a good cat and did not deserve to go through what she did in the last days of her life. She was my baby, and if there would have been anything else that I could've done to keep her here one more day I would've done it. I don't think I'll ever forget this date, and I wish I could just rewind it back one day or fast forward it one ahead. By far, this is the worst Friday the 13th I've ever experienced.

It's helped me a lot this afternoon to go through some CDs of old pictures of her, remembering her when she was happy and healthy. I've uploaded them all and created a new set here in her memory. Tonight, Eric and I will be burying her in his parents' backyard along with puppies they've loved and lost, and I'm extremely comforted in the thought that she will have a place to rest where she won't be alone and I can go to feel close to her.

I love you, baby girl.

Abby Normal

December 23, 1997 - February 13, 2009

have so many photos to upload and so little time

this one is from a couple of weeks ago before the gameon exhibit started at acmi

I really need to go check it out and play some games!

For FGR and Gashlycrumb Tinies.

The original drawings are great but I had never heard of the book til now.

The Gashlycrumb Tinies is a book written by Edward Gorey that was first published in 1963. Gorey tells the tale of 26 children (each representing a letter of the alphabet) and their untimely demise in rhyming dactylic couplets, such as "A is for Amy who fell down the stairs. B is for Basil assaulted by bears." The book takes the reader through the complete alphabet, accompanied by Gorey's black and white illustrations.

Oh gosh. Today's FGR target is My Love Affair With Music. My love-affairs are perfectly represented by my iPod.

I love music. I took a ton of lessons and classes as a kid (piano, violin, viola, cello, stand up bass, choirs) because my parents either fostered the love or recognized it. Somehow now, I am left with an ear for pitch, for tunes, and for lyrics. I love singing! Last night I sang at karaoke again, because I've decided I want to share my love of music with others.

My iPod is filled with music of all stripes. Yes, part of that is because my kids and I share libraries, so I get what they listen to. But also, I appreciate music from most genres. I may not like the music, but I can appreciate it. I love that I can take my music with me and listen to it in the car (no earbuds, because I plug it into a broadcaster).

But I love my iPod for another reason, the other love-affair. This was a present from Jamie for Valentine's Day when I went to FEMA. My days were spent in the hurricane devastated Cameron and Washington parishes, miles from functioning services like radio towers. I had been burning CDs, but Jamie gave me this iPod to make my life better. I treasure the darn machine for that reason. It encapsulates the caring that she had for me. Has for me. I love it because I love her.

For FGR - Random Fascinations.

I wanted to do a little more than take a picture of a stethoscope, plus, move it more into a SP of myself... so here's the explanation of why that piece of equipment fascinates me every time I see it:

Ever since I was a little girl, I've wanted to be a doctor. My first choice was to be a veterinarian, since I loved animals, and one of the best colleges that teaches veterinarian medicine was about 20 minutes from my house and we drove by it every time we would go to San Francisco. Later, that would change into something else.

By the time I hit high school, I decided that I didn't want to be a vet, but more of a forensic pathologist. The human body itself still fascinates me to this day. I love trying to figure out why a person died, and their story on when and how it happened.

When I graduated from high school, I went directly into college, but wasn't really into spending all that time into studying. I wanted to party. Needless to say, I dropped out, and added more to my plate which would make it difficult to make it back to complete my dream.

I'm sure that I'll go back one day, but to do what I want to do, I don't think I'll be able to. I'm a different person now than I was 10 years ago. Even though I still find medicine itself still so fascinating, I don't have the drive to be a doctor.

Today's group on Flickr Group Roulette asks us to list "thirteen things about you." I made up a list of 27, intending to pick the top 13. After running the list past a few people, they urged me to reveal all 27. So be it!

Well, so the stinking bike wouldn't cold start and the battery is dead. Before I read my manual on how to jumpstart, I thought I'd unveil this second part.

This is the second list of thirteen. OK, so it's a baker's thirteen. Sue me.

1. I worked as an embedded systems programmer, creating something that looked like a cable box and read stock quotes broadcast between TV channels. I was charged with created the BIOS, which was a bit more complex than the ones you'd see in a PC-AT. I have pretty deep Geek chops.

2. I worked as a defense contractor. I can't say it was related, but I was not permitted to leave the country for a couple years afterwards.

3. I am an airport planner. I do things like arrange the roads and parking and terminal buildings at airports.

4. When I took the ACT, I missed 4 questions in math. I missed 2 questions on the entire remainder of the test. Perversely, I chose a math-centric career. Kids, don't do that at home.

5. I didn't drink until I graduated high school. Nor did I have sex. That might explain why I am how I am.

6. I sang baritone in highschool until I got addicted to Journey. Subsequently, in the school performance choir I sang bass parts up to Irish tenor.

7. I was in four plays (two of them musicals) in highschool. I was the lead in three of them, although I can't remember what they were.

8. The first thing I notice in women is their hair. Then their eyes. Never their boobs. When walking away, I am more likely to look at their shoes than their butts.

9. I had a photographic memory until I went to college. Even now I have a memory for the mundane. I have a particular affinity for music and lyrics.

10. I got paddled in elementary school for giving a girl a bloody nose. She and her friends held my arms and kicked me. They started it but they went unpunished... until after school.

11. Politically, I consider myself a conservative Constitutionalist.

12. If I am driving, I am speeding.

13. Grown women in pig-tails give me the heeby-jeebies. I have a strong repulsion towards pedophilia, and women attempting to look like school girls are repulsive.

14. Unlike the worst President since Carter, I believe that oral sex is sex. Also? I like oral sex.

FGR today wanted us to take a picture of "me and my camera". I'm afraid I am an over-achiever.

Yes, there is my camera, but there is also my 430EX being fired remotely @1/32 power. On top of the flash is a plasticware bowl with a rectangle cut to fit the flash. It is being fired using the cheap eBay remote flash trigger I've been using for more than a year now.

Instead of using my wireless remote trigger, I recruited my special monkey to shoot the shot.

And finally, Jamie joined me in a special Bokeh Wednesday appearance. HBW!

Strobist info: most of it is spelled out above. As you can see, the 430EX is being fired at the ceiling with a homemade light dome. It is positioned about midway between me and the camera. It is sitting on my lightweight auxillary tripod.

I was on my way to my cousin's house for a family reunion meeting and it was looking like it was going to rain. I was planning on taking my SP when I got into her town (very quaint and I figured I would find a cool location), but the rain was getting ready to start any minute. I pulled off the main street onto this narrow, gravel road, drove down a while and saw this beautiful field of dry hay. I thought that it would make a good backdrop to the black dress I was wearing. I quickly pulled over, grabbed my tripod and camera and ran down off the little road to take this. I had to move quickly because it was starting to thunder and lightening and drizzle. After I got back on the main road it started pouring. Maybe not so stupid for you Flickr folks, but I bet that everyone at my reunion meeting would have thought how stupid this was to do!

I little bit better bigger and on black.

The moment hangs in the air, stretched between two wills—one refusing to be stopped, the other refusing to let go. The ball carrier charges forward, eyes locked on the horizon, heart pounding like a war drum. But the defender meets him with unwavering resolve, arms outstretched, body bracing for impact.

Hair whips in the wind, breaths collide in the space between them, and time slows as the battle unfolds. Neither backs down. Neither yields. In this fleeting instant, the game is distilled into its purest form—strength against strength, heart against heart. It is not just about winning or losing. It is about proving that you were here, that you fought, that you gave everything.

Flickr Group Roulette: Fridge Portraits

I've done a fridge shot before, so I wanted to kick it up a notch. Plus, I had creamer on the mind, having finished up a bottle this morning.

Ok, so I'll admit it. I actually went out the the store... to get the shot! I did need/want the creamer... but it was mostly a happy bonus!

Aaaaand, I even went to both stores! (The first just wasn't working right for me, and I know too many folks on that shift... and was sure one was about to totally catch me with their fridge door open for-ever! Besides, the creamer was on a better sale at the other store. so there!)

Minecraft day - 25/04/2011

When I saw that FGR was doing Interpreting Beatles Songs for today, I knew I had to participate! I grew up listening to the Beatles (no, I'm not that old - they were my father's favourite group, and will always be one of my favourites as well). Additionally, as soon as I saw today's choice, I immediately knew which song I would chose. No, it's not my favourite Beatles' song (though it would be up there - and I think it was my sister's favourite at one time), I thought it would be fun to do a photo of it.

But when she turns her back on the boy

He creeps up from behind...

I played the song on repeat the whole time while I was setting up the shot, taking the photos, editing them, and uploading to Flickr.

For FGR - 90's Pop Culture.

I was trying to channel my high school days, but I forgot some things, couldn't find any of my flannels... don't own any more straight leg jeans... I could go on and on. This was my typical morning when I was in school... sitting with my best friend in front of our locker talking about bands and our lives in general.

So, since everything isn't visible (and this isn't the school I graduated (or even attended!) from:

The Smashing Pumpkins - Beanie & Zero shirt both from 1996

South Park - Kenny

Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star (they were popular with the band geeks)

Kikwear Jeans, baggy as all get out. Similar to JNCO's...

I bought my backpack in college (1998), with a built in compartment for your laptop. Paid $100 bucks for it.

I was going to use my old CD player, but I forgot it when I left work this morning...

And with deepest apologies and sincere appreciation to Gustav Klimt.

The Kiss has always been one of my absolute favorite paintings. I loved that she was a redhead, I loved the patchwork intricacy of the quilt, the colors were so regal and yet warm and accessible... Klimt is a genius with color.

And there's something so reverential about his paintings. They are intimate and sensual without any hint of voyeurism.

I think this will be the last of 'us' for a while, though, like this.

I promise you, we do argue and annoy each other. :)

**ETA: A little pissed -- Inspired By Art is a private group... for THIS I spent an hour trying to get this shot?!?! Grrrr....

For FGR and Flickr Hot Tub Party

Im actually home with a very bad headache attack (yay for stress) but after a whole morning of sleep I feel a little bit better. At least I felt good enough to give today's FGR a shot...it's not the best cloning pic, but considering how I feel i think it turned out pretty good. yay for mini me! :)

The stress part isnt about being stressed so much btw, but more getting less stressed. The last few months have been crappy and it all seems to work out now (I have a job I love, my house is sold and my bf is moving from UK to here in 2 months) so my body is throwing in a 'getting rid of some stress' day. Usually that means a day of severe headache. That is obviously crap but it also means im getting better, yay!

For FGR - *Fridays I'm in Love*.

Now, everyone loves (for the most part!) their significant others, children, family, themselves, etc... today, I just didn't feel like subjecting the two guys in my life to me getting the "perfect" shot. I decided to take a different approach, since I'm more patient then they are.

I love my ears for so many reasons. This is my most favourite one though, and I've nicknamed it as my "elf ear." The biggest part is them giving me the ability to hear. My eyesight has been on a somewhat steady decline (I think it's leveled out for the time being) and my hearing has, I believe, made up for it. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my hearing.

This is the extent of the body modification that I do... I still would love to get a targus piercing, and I've been really leaning on some other piercings also. The problem is, I don't have the money right now to do it. I know it's not that expensive, but priorities, especially with Christmas coming up.

One of the things I totally love about these plugs, and to the other pair I own is that they're wood. They are so comfortable, they don't ever itch, and they absorb that awful ear cheese smell. I would wear them all the time, if I could!

Anyway, I need to get started on the last day of the work week (YAY!! WEEKEND!), before my boss comes in and yells (kidding!) at me to get to work.

Happy Black Friday to all down in the States!

Textures by: Angelique (Liek)'s.

Today's FGR group is in my secret life. I have seen many hilarious examples of what people's secret identities are. I struggled all day with coming up with an appropriately zany secret identity. As the day wore on, I realized that many people were coming clean with serious issues. Finally... I decided to do the same.

I've struggled with an issue in my life that manifested when I entered college. In short, I would suddenly pass out with no reason. At first, people had me convinced that it was because of my excessive drinking. That made sense. Drink more than a lot/wake up in the Red Cedar or the girl's dorm.

But then I began to understand that there was more to it. Sometimes I could win at quarters and have no problems, but other times I would pass out at a block party.

I decided to seek help. After much testing, my roommate's girlfriend's best-friend's other-friend's roommate (a nursing student) properly diagnosed me with an allergy to a specific color.

I am allergic to porraceous colors. When I view them, I experience uncontrolled hypersomnia.

Of course, with this new self-understanding, I was able to enjoy the remainder of my college career unfettered with a fear of excessive alcohol consumption. As long as I avoid colors in the prasinous family while doing so.

Since college, I have had only a few recurrences of this dreaded malady. A New Year's Eve party here, a wedding reception there. Just a few.

I'm glad to finally release my secret into the public domain. I hope you will continue to support me.

This is my three hundred fifty third self portrait for 365 Days.

*Single light source: refrigerator

"Milk was a bad choice" - Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

H is for hat.

Isn't that thing ugly? It came in a beach bag with a beach towel and sunglasses that I bought at JC Penney's when I was a freshman in high school. I don't think I've ever worn it in public, and why I've kept it all these years is beyond me. Maybe for a moment such as this? Who knows. I just kind of put together random clothes... didn't want to look too snazzy sitting on the floor in front of the refrigerator at midnight with a carton of milk between my legs. Why? Because when Ron Burgundy fell, he fell hard.

"It's so damn hot!"

For FGR - Legs Up Against the Wall.

I took the tree down today, and wanted to use the lights just one more time before they're put away for the year...

Also, it's a little depressing knowing that FGR is going to be gone in less than a week. The group has helped me out so much with ideas on doing my self-portraits, and has given me something to look forward to each day. I know that my photos may not be the greatest, but it was still something to push my limits on what I could do with each shot. I hope that I have at the least improved a bit over the short time I've been with a group. I know that it has added different things to my project, and helped me gravitate from the usual shot of just my face.

I really have been debating on leaving the group before the 31st, but, I decided that I would hang on though until the end. There's no point in quitting anyway. I'm hoping that I still can follow some which way (including Abe's group! Thanks Abe!), and I do have some ideas on what I can do in the near future.

It's not the last day, but I'd still like to thank all the Asshats in bringing the group into existence, and allowing me to participate in their little bit of fun. :)

Warming up for a friendly match with my neighbor.

The storm rages, but the game does not pause. Water streaks through the air, mixing with mud and sweat, but the fight remains fierce. One surges forward, eyes locked on the try line, heart pounding with the rhythm of the rain. The other lunges, grasping with every ounce of effort, clinging to the moment where the game is won or lost.

The jerseys stretch, bodies collide, legs kick against the weight of resistance. Yet, for all the chaos, there is a clarity—a single goal, a singular drive, a battle that neither side is willing to surrender. The rain does not wash away their determination; it only makes the moment more unforgettable.

The UNESCO/ITT team ran the first #GameON programme outside of the US, and also evaluated the impact of the programme, as part of a Masters research thesis undertaken by Jeromme Suganthy and supervised by Edel Randles

Bride cooks herself from the inside out by excessive use of tanning machines in the week before the wedding.

(Sorry, it won't let me cut and paste - and I'm not typing it all out!)

I'm very fair-skinned and avoid tanning so it was interesting turning myself orange!

Thanks to Obsidian Dawn at deviantart.com for the flame brushes and playingwithbrushes for the texture.

For FGR - My Pet Peeves. (One of many that I have!)

One of my biggest pet peeves is promptness. If there's one thing that will send me into a blind rage is either being late for something, or having to wait on someone, who is late.

Thanks to some key people in my past (one for always being late, and the other who drilled on being prompt, the Lombardi Method - always be 10 minutes early), this has turned into a complex/pet peeve of mine.

I'm sure the waiting on someone else is more for my impatience, but as for myself, I'm always at least 10 minutes early for any appointment.

*Thanks to Carol for letting me borrow his watch!*

*Manic Mondays*

I am currently my own boss so the boss man is the PHB devil that sits on my shoulder telling me(constantly) I have work to do. As an artist, Christmas is a busy time for me. So my days sort of blend into one another. Much like the mess I made across my face. Yep, total dork. Now back to work at nearly 12 midnight.
