The last game I attended at Carrow Road with my Dad.
I was on leave from my base at Laarbruch in Germany, finalising my plans for the divorce of my first wife, and judging by pictures of that time, looking pale and gaunt.
Dad died of a heart attack in April 1996, came on whilst cycling home from work, and walking over Oulton Broad bridge, as it turned out, he did not have the energy to cycle up the slight hill.
The paramedic said he was dead before he hit the ground.
The orderly office and duty NCO knocked at my room door; I thought it was my Granddad who had died, as I knew what their presence meant, but it was Dad. Although Granddad only last three more days.
Dad and I had boycotted home games through Christmas following the departure of Martin O'Neil, in order to get the then chairman, Robert Chase, to resign. So were denied one or two more games.

Samburu Game Reserve is situated in the hot and arid fringes of Kenya's vast Northern Frontier District, about five hours north of Nairobi. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, pastoral relatives of the Masai.
The landscape is dry and the savanna broken by low mountain slopes. The area around the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River (Samburu name for “brown water”) is much greener on the other hand and home of many different species.
The reserve is known for a number of species that are rare or elsewhere, such as the netgiraffe, Grevy’s zebra, giraffe, gazelle and oryx Beisa. In the northern part, where the river through rocky hills and a narrow plain flows, many leopards live. Birdlife is abundant with over 450 species recorded.
The Samburu National Reserve was one of the two areas in which conservationists George Adamson and Joy Adamson raisedElsa the Lioness made famous in the best selling book and award winning movie Born Free.
Access - Road: The reserve can be accessed to by road from Nairobi through Isiolo on all weather bitumen while Isiolo Archers Post is gravelled. The road section distance from Isiolo to Archer’s gate is 34.3 km. Air: The reserve has an airstrip that is the Oryx Samburu Airstrip.

1980 Williams Defender. Full size arcade machine, complete & original.
Whilst driving to The Midlands, the subject of arcade machines came up. My co-driver mentioned he had this in his garage. He'd bought it from a local ( to him ) arcade in the late 1980's. It stopped working in about 1994. Since then, it sat untouched in a corner of his garage.
Of course, I asked him, "how much?" £50 was mentioned. That night, after work, I paid him the £50 & collected this rare beaat.
It now sits in the corner of my living room. I removed all the electronics, cleaned the cabinet, then carefully cleaaned all the guts with circuit board cleaner. It's now clean & shiny.
Still not working. I replaced a few parts on the power supply. Now all the LEDs light up & it gives the all right voltages. The monitor needs a refurb & it seems the ROM chips have lost their data. A common problem, but luckily all parts are available for little money. I could replace all five circuit boards, three of them rather large, with a modern single tiny board. The game would sound & play exactly the same, it would be exactly the same data. But where's the fun in that.
