A really fun game that I saw a few years ago that I just had to make. I don't know the name of the game but the object of the game is to get the ring off of the main part of the game and completely separate from everything else. The base was turned from a redwood burl, the square pieces from cocobolo, the beads from chakte coke, the post from african blackwood and the ring from osage orange.

When im looking in the mirror I see eyes, a nose, hear etc. but I dont see myself. I dont know who I am or what
I'm doing. Sometimes theres a litle piece of me breaking trough the surface. A melodie guides me to my dream. Heavy rusty chains are swimming around me. strict people are falling trough empty holes but strange creatures are seducing me to show me their wonderfull empire. The empire of shadow and fog with the most intense colours. The shapes of their houses are round and decorated with sticky melting pencils. Around five o clock they go downstairs to play a game.
It is a game with no rules, no boundaries and no limmits. as tension is at the highest point the stickey world fades and I'm walking through those terrible grey boxes again......

Sometimes, it's more fun to go to a friend's house for game night than it is to go out to a bar or club.
The surroundings are nicer, the conversation is better (and audible), the "prices" are more affordable (unless you're bad at poker ;p), and you don't have to wait at the bar to get a drink.
The game here was Spades. (D'oh!)
Tita hosted yet another great game night last Friday, though it was bittersweet because we were all bidding farewell to Chantal. We will miss her and wish her the best.

Gökhan Özbal, a graphics designer, developed this game at his home, during an echonomical crisis in Turkey. He developed this game in about one year. In an interview, he told that the name of the game comes from his daughter's name which is "Sim". "Simino" is a universal game because it is fully dominated with colors and numbers.
Simino game box includes 49 Simino cards, four card holders, score sheets and Simino game board. Simino can be played by one to four people. The main goal of this game is obtaining the highest score by matching the colors of the sides of Simino cards that are placed in a location on the Simino board. Meanwhile, a player should consider minimizing the total score that an opponent attempts to obtain. Simino is the name of the best move in the game. A Simino move is played if a player places all of his/her four cards all at once on the Simino board during his/her turn in the game. Actually, a player can only place one card at a time during his/her turn. But if s/he can make a Simino move, then it is possible for him/her to place all of the cards s/he has at once.
There are two groups of cards in Simino: Regular and Joker. A regular card can have a single color at each side, where as a Joker card can contain one side having two to four colors and the rest having a single color. Each side has a score associated with them.

Some board games I brought home to maybe try with the more strategic crowd. And a bunch of 2-player ones that make more sense being here. Let's see there's: Hive, Jambo, Lost Cities, Odin's Ravens, Voltage, Travel Ingenious, Times Square, Balloon Cup, Kahuna, Hera and Zeus, Dracula, Shazaamm, Scripts and Scribes, Slush Fund, Gheos, Caylus, Dread Pirate, Pirate's CCove, Dynasties, Fjords, Terakh, Flandern 1302, The Traders of Genoa, and Notre Dame. Maybe in some upcoming weekends we'll tear into some of these.

Playing Cerulean Pools by Kahrma (http://www.heroscapers.com/download/index.php?dlid=121), a gorgeous non-symmetrical-yet-balanced map. Could this be my first victory over my lovely, but viciously competitive, wife?
Victory conditions are either eliminate the other army or hold 3 of the 5 glyphs for a full round. There's also a healing glyph in the middle of the board. The catch here is that one of the 5 glyphs is a decoy (more on that later).
Confined in a world developed by somebody else's imagination. Masked by the excuse to alleviate boredom, the mind travels to a world equipped with incredible powers but limited choices, all the while dying and undying limitless times while in it.
Whether the goal is to finish the game or to be ranked above everyone else, the objective the same: to consume your time
And then perhaps, profit..
Remember not to sell your life.
