This is a basic patrol scenario. I thought I'd go some more open terrain that might be encountered in the New Guinea campaign away from the coast in 1943/4. The Australians entry edge is on the left. The trail runs diagonally across the length of the table to the highest point. I didn't want to overload the table with too much terrain but wanted it to look pretty imposing. The grassy areas need to be higher for effect.

This is not the memory game I played, but the one from when my mom was little. I stole her matches and took pictures of them.
Finally 2015 has started for me with photos. Cellphone it may be, but still, a picture I was happy with to start the year :)
I belong to a cake club that has a coordinator who helps us volunteer to make cakes for kids who are in the CASA program. Most of these kids are foster kids, and many of them have never had a birthday cake their whole lives.
Usually we don't get to meet the kids - we just get the cake to the CASA volunteer, and know that it's a nice thing to have done for a kid.
The info for this kid was: He's turning 9, his name is J., he wants a strawberry cake with strawberry frosting, and he likes video games.
I got a little more info from the CASA volunteer - he wanted Sonic Tennis for his birthday. So I chose Sonic the Hedgehog for his cake.
I got a nice surprise from the volunteer - she was going to bring J. with her when she picked up the cake, so I could meet him!
I wish I had a photo of when he saw the cake! His whole face were just three big Os!!! Eyes and mouth just were all as wide as can be, and he asked with astonishment, "How did you KNOW, I LOVE Sonic?!?!!?"
Yeah - that was great :)
He stayed a few minutes because Bebe, Scampi, and Ditto were all trying to get his attention (and his shoelaces!)
