Standing Tall
This Glossy ibis was one of many that decided to take a slight break from fishing to pose for me through the bird blind at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge.

This fabulous Glossy Ibis stayed in the Cley area recently, this is another shot captured when, it at last, came near the hide.....Previous posts show the head well, I chose this one for the colours...
The Glossy Ibis is a year round resident of the Gulf Coast and in the summer, the eastern coast of the U.S. It is reported to be extending its range farther west. Plegadis falcinellus

While out enjoying the rookery at Shoveler Pond at Anahuac NWR this morning I was pleased to spot this Glossy Ibis flying past. I know there are Glossy Ibis nesting in the rookery but it is great to have such a nice photo opportunity of one.

This Glossy Ibis had been foraging in the shallows of Upper Myakka Lake before it stopped and scooped up a bill full of water and had a good drink.
