HIGH END GLOSS

It is almost impossible to sufficiently admire just how classy and sleek he is! Portrait of an absolute belter of a Yellow-bellied Water Skink (Eulamprus heatwolei) from the banks of the Big River near Jamieson in the Victorian High Country on a sunny spring morning a few days ago.

Thanks for the visits, faves and comments its greatly appreciated.

Glossy Ibis ~ (Plegadis falcinellus)

I had never noticed the iridescence on the top of the Glossy Ibis' head before, but this one was kind enough to use a little product to show it off!

Thanks for visiting!

This bird seen by a pond already has much of its breeding plumage and will only get more beautiful, west coast Florida.

Glossy Ibis in breeding plumage at NLAWD

This ibis is pretty glossy, but it's not a Glossy Ibis. The red eye gives it away as a White-faced Ibis (Plegadis chihi). But then it doesn't have a white face either. Pretty confusing. Found in Lafitte's Cove, Galveston Island, Texas. Lafitte (AKA Laffite) was a 19th century pirate who lived on the island.

A very rare visitor to the UK. This Glossy Ibis was photographed just outside Reading.
