It's always nice to see a very rare bird so well! This one has been at the same stretch of "river" for the past week or so, often allowing for great views. I was not disappointed with mine! Lifer for me, but more importantly a great state bird.

Glossy Ibis. Catcott Lows. Somerset

These birds are shy but I hung around so long that they got sick of hiding. Very windy up here which made it a bad hair day for ibises.

Glossy Ibis Southern Spain

In New Jersey after sunrise

Momument walk, Hat Head National Park, Arakoon, NSW. The monument walk is one of the more reliable locations to see Glossies, which are otherwise scarce. As luck would have it, two were feeding on the track and offered beaut views. Glossies feed exclusively on casaurina nuts. One of the major threats to glossies is by logging practices in state forests which remove casaurina forests in favour of 'desirable' timbers.

Managed to tear myself away from our new garden today Was great to see this Beautiful Glossy Ibis in East Sussex.

This morning I had a nice walk around my local reserve deciding to walk to one of the far lakes to check for winter ducks. This turned out to be a mistake as not long after I got home a glossy ibis was found on the route I didn't take. Good job I can get there on my lunch break!
