Holy cow! This is why I only worry about and follow the light. Wind or anything else, I can deal with but have to have the light!

In the wetlands of Keoladeo, the elusive Glossy Ibis emerges in quiet splendor.
Location: Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary
Photograph taken today early morning on entrance road to Slimbridge WWT nature reserve. My first decent shot of this species in U.K. (Thanks for viewing my photos)
A Glossy Ibis gleaning from the shallows at Cutler Wetlands. There were actually quite a few other birds present this day but I was able to capture this one in solitary.
A glossy ibis - a first for me - in the margins of the water hazard on the margin of the San Lorenzo golf course on the outskirts of Faro.
I have found the Glossy Ibis difficult to photograph. They are so beautiful when the sun catches them just right. This one was feeding just off the trail in high grass in afternoon sun. Circle B, Lakeland FL
Showing where they got their common name - lovely glossy feathers on the wings.

A glossy ibis that has recently taken up residence in the Slimbridge area. In this image the bird is foraging for food in one of the fields on the approach road to the WWT close to the Gloucester/Sharpness canal.
Coming into breeding plumage me thinks. Or younger than my last ones on the Creation adventure. Still a beauty hanging with a few friends.
The glossy ibis is unmistakable for its long, curved bill, its slender silhouette and iridescent plumage with metallic sheen glinting in the sun. It can be typically found in marshland, usually in the company of herons and spoonbills, who it shares breeding colonies with. After many years, it has finally begun breeding again in various parts of mainland Spain. Its diet consists mainly of invertebrates.

These Glossy Ibis, the smallest of Australia's three Ibis species, are a relatively uncommon visitor to Victoria. I was thrilled when this one decided to spend some time at a local wetland.

Their plumage appears dark, almost blackish, at a distance or in
poor light. At close range, much of the body is maroon, with the wing coverts showing metallic green, bronze, and violet tones. Glossy Ibises frequent almost any wetland environment with shallow water or exposed mud and also readily feeds in farm fields or open areas where soils are moist. - Sheen is amazing! Fun to observe.
