A friendly match between Alexandria University (Malaysia) team vs Al-Azhar University (Indonesia) team. Mansoura was the host for this match.
After reading Molly Wizenberg's book last year and finding out that she and her husband Brandon were opening a pizza restaurant in Seattle, Delancey went to the top of my list of places to eat while we were in town. It was just as charming as I had imagined, and the food was wonderful. Since we were sitting at the bar, we even got to chat with Brandon a little while he worked the pizza oven.
Too bad we don't live closer; it's just the kind of neighborhood restaurant I love. At least we have Contigo here. :)

The ACIO office in Taipei is more friendly to me as an American than the US Fauxembassy is to me as a citizen. They're really pleasant people.
Odd note: the only other person applying for a visa there was a guy who I've seen on my flight from Bangkok in May and in the subway once here in TPE city. He's a humongous, tall monk dressed in orange robe, so he's pretty hard to miss. I bet I'll be seeing him in Australia, then. Haha.
On this day a former fire lookout was actually the volunteer on staff. While we were there a few other visitors came through, one who usually takes care of the cabin for a few weeks during the summer with a friend. It's amazing cozy feeling with the single bed and candle-lamps hanging around the place. He had his boots and socks drying out on the deck; the cabin is shut in during the winter as the stove has since been taken out.
