This is my girlfriend R...she is one tough cookie. She is suffering terrible chronic pain right now, for not fully understood reasons, yet still remains a positive and fabulous mom to her girls, and an active participant in her community, organizing events to raise money for cancer.
But every once in awhile you catch this look, the troubled, fearfulness that she tries so hard to not let us see.
Our little Needy McNeedster - a name she mocks herself with brutally - is a fab girl, and I wish she would believe how much we ( the royal we of our friends) respect that. In the past year she has gone from energetic kindergarten teacher and local fashion plate ( she gets all her clothes from High Street, being our little Briton and all) to giving up her job and lying curled up on my couch in tears today because her meds are taking awhile to adjust to. Strong meds. Like the kind that beautiful 36 year old women should not be on.
Anyways, just stifling a vent about how unfair some things are and how fast your life can change sometimes.
And capturing a shot of her that she will likely poo-poo but that I find strikingly beautiful.

She's a magazine and tabloid journalist who just about caught the Megabus to Manchester after almost accidentally getting on a coach to Poland.
She befriended me with Fruit Pastilles, and we started chatting.
An hour or so later the coach stopped dead on the motorway, so we reached for the absinthe that I'd mentioned.
We started on red (50%) then worked our way up.
Starting off my year in France with a little trip to Paris...where I found friends and my wonderful Teo
