The quality is not that good as the light was poor and the shot was taken to a (not sooo clean) window but the best I could get till now
This image is from one of the better hikes in Petrified Forest National Park called Blue Mesa Trail. I would love to offer up some death-defying horror story of how I scrambled to a cliff edge and almost died for this image, but it would be malarkey (forgive the foul language). This is actually taken from a very safe and comfortable overlook with railings and everything. I know, where is the fun in that? So, yes, this composition is popular, Still, it is popular for a reason, and now I have my own version of this iconic scene. I actually had this same image with people down there too, but this seemed to much more true to the place. I feel like this landscape seems so alien, so inhospitable, that it is far better suited to be alone. I am sure many will argue it is indeed teaming with life, but it sure does not feel that way. So here you go. Alone. The only friend this strange place has is color.

I was so pleased we were able to see the Tawnie chicks this year. I have missed alot due to lockdown and was worried I missed them but Woodlands is now in my travel zone. These birds came second to the Superb Fairywren in the favourite bird competition this year.
One of the two Tawny Frogmouth chicks. This one was particularly cuddly and spent alot of time leaning in to dad (thanks David).

Well, if you are sat at home all alone in self isolation or something you can make your own friend and converse all Halloween with them. And they will smile all evening with you. Awww..
I'm proud to say my friend is 100% home grown and seems to be enjoying my light conversation.
He spoke English and became the opening for my photos of the emigrants from Senegal. When they realized that they were getting the pictures I was taking of them, so that they could send them to the family in Africa, they willingly volunteered for photography.
My friend Doug took me around his local patch at the weekend on the Campsies. I liked the little copse of Scots Pines but this little one caught my eye.There was a fence in front but I decided to brush out the distracting fence posts.
That's a buttercup flower and if you know how big they are you know how close this is ... about 3:1 with the crop. The A7RIV allows for considerable cropping while maintaining high resolution. It's an expensive camera but it 'doubles' your lens inventory in a manner of speaking. In APS-C mode you are still taking a 26 megapixel photo. WARNING & DISCLAIMER: it fills memory cards and hard drives fast!
