Manny is one of the security officers where I work, but he's much more than that to me -- he is a great friend as well.
At my old job he worked in the lobby of the building I was in at the time. Around the time I got my new job a month ago, he was promoted and moved to the building where I work now. :-)

Something is going on here. Something I can't really figure out.
It's a strange world, the bugs' world...
Are they friends or foes? Are those little flies servants of the gigantic ant?... Are they sacrificing those unidentified red things to save their lives? Or are they pleasing the ant because it has been a wise protector?...or... something else?

One of the things that happen when you are bereaved is that you are expected by some to conform to some arbitrary timetable, that after a period of time everything will be well again, and things can return to normal. Let me tell you that this is not so, and my poem reflects the feeling we experienced following the sudden death of my son aged 30 on 8th Jan 2004
