(and you can't get 'em any fresher than that!) :)

.

Wow! This was outstanding, from the first moment stepping in to the intimate dining room, the food, the service, everything!

Admittedly, until now, I have not been a huge fan of sushi. I'd have a few pieces here and there but didn't go crazy over it. The idea of eating raw seafood just didn't appeal to me. Obviously, I've been having it at the wrong places. I'm a changed person now!

Our wonderful experience started with our host greeting us, seating us, and taking our coats. Simple but great first impression!

Our first taste included Chicken Karaage and Miso Soup. This was a good start while we watched our meal being prepared by expert chefs. They're obviously masters of their craft!

Next up was the main event, fresh, delicious, and beautiful sushi! Each piece was masterfully composed, using fresh ingredients. There was a variety of fish, all described by one of the chefs as he presented it to us. It all tasted as good as it looked! I enjoyed it all except for the uni, which was captured by my dining companion.

Thank you, Sushi Gin, for a fantastic meal, with great service.

After a visit to Beomeosa Temple we were bused to the vicinity of Busan's fish market. The bus dropped us off a few blocks from the market. So, here are a bunch of shots of street vactivity in the area.

The fish market has spread to the adjoining streets - fish everywhere.

Pike Place Market / Seattle

I always try to visit local markets when I travel and took the opportunity to visit the large Mina Fish Market in Abu Dhabi in the UAE, where shoppers face a difficult choice when confronted with the large variety of fresh seafood brought in daily from the Persian Gulf. In this image a man in traditional UAE attire inspects the daily catch. He is wearing a thobe (locally called dishdash, a long white robe) with a keffiyeh (checked headscarf, also call ghutra) and igal (black cord).

I've always enjoyed looking at the fresh seafood that comes in to market, and have always wanted to grab my sketchbook to sketch what's interesting.. I found the time, and this day it was a rather big eyed Tuna that caught my interest.

the fishing port at Hastings (with expectant seagull)

Hastings is one of Britain's oldest fishing ports. There is no habour - the boats are launched directly from the beach, and have been for over a thousand years. There is still a fleet of over 25 fishing boats making use of their medieval right to carry on using this beach for ever, free of charge...

While travelling around Thailand, you will inevitably come across many fishermen. They are so common, they will at some point probably become a part of your daily observations and perhaps after a while, you will not notice them anymore. Still, they are an integral part of the country, and on any boat trip, you are bound to see them. They might form a great sight with stunning islands in the background, or a pretty scene in their colourful boats.

We stayed at Koh Kood resort. After the rain of last evening the sky cleared this morning. A new fisher's boat arrived this morning in our bay hearing it's droning engine. Well, it not the same fisher's boat as my previous photo. This Thai fisher's boat is colored beautiful dark orange.

Early mornings, if you stay in a village near the sea you will hear the droning engine of their boats as they take to the waters for their next catch. In some cases, you might see a fisherman dragging his boat through the sea in apparently shallow water. The typical bow of their boats make the fisherboats photogenic, and they are often coloured brightly, and decorated with brightly coloured cloth and flowers. Fish being a main staple in the Thai diet, fishermen are just a part of daily life, and it is worth paying attention. They make for great sights.

I captured this beauty as she left Peterhead Harbour today Wed 30th May 2018.

This is the place in the public market where a crew of fish mongers throw fish around to entertain us. Notice all the spectators watching! Seconds before I took this image, the man in the white apron threw a fish to another worker. Fish were flying everywhere! We were shoulder to shoulder with people so I didn't hang around. I wanted to see everything. I've decided one day here isn't enough!
