Fresh free range mountains for your viewing pleasure

Thanks for visiting my stream. I appreciate it.

Enjoy your day! :)

Some fresh tire tracks in a newly fallen snow, captured on Peirce Island in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

A fresh fall of snow greeted me this morning as we set off to hike the Ice Lake Trail near Whitehorse in Southern Yukon. The snow continued and picked up in intensity during our hike, which made for some beautiful scenes.

This photo taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 and M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 Pro mounted to a tripod. The final image was processed from raw in Lightroom with a VSCO film preset, which added just a little to the colour and texture of the photo.

This was taken during an outing at the Rhododendron Species Foundation in Federal Way last month. Being located in the "Evergreen State" as it is, of course it was raining, lol.

I liked the fresh spring green look.

The botanical definition of a berry is a fleshy fruit produced from a single ovary. Grapes and avocados are two common examples. The berry is the most common type of fleshy fruit in which the entire ovary wall ripens into an edible pericarp

Winter made an early appearance around here, but it was a beautiful snowfall, with mild temperatures following it. Perfect for a walk though the woods laden with fresh snow. I used a different kind of combination for this shot -a Vello accelerator that uses glass elements to give a 0.71x magnification to the image to revert the framing to similar to full frame on a Sony APS-C mirrorless camera (Sony a6500 here). It also increases the maximum aperture by 1 stop, allowing my Tamron 85mm f/1.8 VC to act like a 59.5mm f/1.3 lens here. By the wonder of the crop factor of the camera,

that then has the appearance of an 89.25mm f/1.8 lens. Yes, it's a little complicated, but it basically allows you to use full frame lenses with a full frame "look" on APS-C. There is some erosion of image quality, but good lenses still look very good. My review of this adapter will come next week.

A pair of nearly brand new ET44AC's (CN 3146 & CN 3159) lead CN 401 over the Lachine Canal during a cloudy period. Unfortunately the dark skies messed up my focus a bit and this is nowhere near as sharp as it could be. But that fresh power sure looks good!
