Fresh greenery from a new generation of trees surrounds the weathered trunk of a dying old-growth cedar.
On Display in Hamlet, NC is SDP35 1114 in a stunning fresh SAL. The unit has sat on display since the early 90s being repainted 2 times since being displayed. Being a few days after Christmas there would still be a few decorations up on the unit.
Fresh Swoosh sits outside MAC (Mid America Car) in Kansas City. BNSF 2812 started out as GN GP30 nbr 3006 in April 1963, then became BN nbr 2206. Rebuilt July 1989 to 2812. Still has the "V" windshield. They don't last this clean for too long.

Shame all UP power doesn't look this sharp! A very fresh AC4400 rebuild leads 329 west by the 82.2 intermediate, which serves as the approach signal for the crossing with the BNSF in downtown Jasper.

Went for a walk again in another park and found these water fountains. Obviously, I did some play in Photoshop to bring out its essence.

As CN 3005 climbs upgrade towards Billharte, it passes some freshly dropped ballast here on the Three Hills Sub. The trackbed can use all the support it can get here, as heavy forces in several directions impact the ground as trains wind through the many S-curves. The line does a lot of twisting and turning as it makes its way south to Calgary.

En-Route to the Cairngorms in Scotland, driving through fresh snowfall & my trigger finger was itching. I was constantly passing these wonderful snow covered Birch trees, but could not pull over to shoot them. Eventually I found a lay-by, strapped on my gaiters and went for a walk. This image was shot handheld, iso 400 and is one of my favourite images of the year.

in St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery or the Edmonton Cemetery, haven't quite got the boundary figured out yet.
This is one of the oldest cemeteries in Edmonton.
Edmonton Cemetery and St. Joachim's Cemetery are the only cemeteries in North America that have an arterial roadway running through them.

Pere Marquette 1225 is making just it's 2nd run following it's mandatory 15 year inspection and subsequent rebuild at the Steam Railroad Institute in Owosso. A keen eye will notice the lack of boiler jacketing.
They are making their way north and west to the small town of Ashley on the North Pole Express.
One of the most dynamic, busy and fun markets I have ever visited. It was intense and there were many interesting characters.

Had to reinstall Skyrim cause it crashed for unknown reasons, so I was testing armors after the install, while taking screenshots!

Durante nuestro reciente viaje fotográfico a Lofoten hemos sufrido todo tipo de contratiempos, desde intensas nevadas hasta los devastadores efectos del huracán Ole que nos mantuvo sin luz y sin calefaccion más de 24 horas y por poco nos impide salir de las islas en la fecha prevista.... Pero tambien hemos vivido momentos mágicos de luz... Con ganas de volver el próximo invierno ;-)

During our recent photographic trip to Lofoten we have suffered all kind of problems from heavy snow to the devastating effects of the hurricane Ole which kept us without light and heating over 24 hours and almost keeps us leave the islands as scheduled... But we have also lived magical moments of light... Looking forward to returning next winter ;-)
