I guess everyone has had the flu this winter. Last thursday it was my turn!.. a nasty stomach flu. Now I need some FRESH AIR!!!! Have a beautiful weekend everyone!!
Silverton was previously a mining town and is on the outskirts of Telluride. This area of the four corners has the least amount of pollution anywhere in the world. Recently, due to factories in the cities of Arizona they have started detecting pollutants in this pristine air. It will be only for a brief amount of time that we will be able to breathe this fresh mountian air.

Eagle Season 2018 was finally kicked off for me this morning, taking some time off from work on what was a sunny morning along the Susquehanna River. There were about 75 to 100 eagles around ... just not that many fish. With all the rain lately here in the northeast, the Susquehanna River was flowing extremely fast heavy, with many spillways open at the dam.
Not sure how all that rain this area has seen will effect the fish population coming down the river. Today the action was slow going with only a few fish pulled from the river in a 4 hour period.
A fresh Dash 9 rebuild leads train 760 past westbound G851 with a BNSF SD70ace as rear DPU at Gainford Alberta.
On our way;k this morning we came across this freshly minted Monarch while looking for Red-Headed Woodpeckers. Photographers can be so easily distracted.

This is just the top of Cinnamon Pass Road on the Lake City side. We have done these several times in the snow, or just after a snowfall. Cinnamon Pass is 12,400 feet in elevation, but is one of the easier trails we do in the San Juan Mountains.
So if you are doing 4wheeling for the first time, I would recommend this trail for you start out on. No matter the trail, you still need to be very careful.
Worried in tired life chains ? Better be in the fresh air and walking for an hour. It brings many good things for us.
Moving fairly fast in early morning along the highway is a motorcycle cart carrying several fresh coconut fruits. On board, besides the driver-seller, is another guy who could be his helper and a young boy.
