This photo was taken at the freight station in Mannheim germany, with an Olympus OMD EM 10. A lens I used an Olympus M.9-18.
Freight train,
Rolling through the city,
Freight train
Through the farms and fields.
Freight train,
You’re looking so pretty.
Over trestles and through tunnels
In the dark and light
Then you roll right out of sight!

With both trains waiting to exit Latchford Sidings and head for Arpley Junction, 66607 is seen on the right with 6F91 Ince & Elton Sidings to Crewe Basford Hall, while 66044 is seen on the left with 6O16 Ditton Foundry Lane to Dollands Moor Sidings.
40122 heads back to Carlisle with an evening freight, near St Helens, Flimby in early 1984 as twilight gathers over the Solway. It was the twilight of the class 40s too, although 40122 - as a celebrity - would be kept going for another four years, by this time the loveable dinosaurs were effectively finished.
Mossend Yard on 10th July 1990, 20185 and 20148 about to depart with a northbound Speedlink working. This was an incredibly busy yard with an amazing selection of wagons on display, the old slag heap (or small hill) at the north end gave a great views of the yard and all the comings and goings at the north end. After the CNJ 113 trips, attention changed to the Reading and Northern's North Reading Fast Freight, which was sporting a very nice set of power, including RBMN SD40-2 3059 on the point, which was making its debut run in a brand new coat of green and yellow...
Running 25 minutes or so later than usual, the R&N NRFF hustles eastbound along Lowland Road in Hamburg behind SD40-2 3059 plus SD50-2s 5020, 5018 and 5021 with a decent sized mixed freight behind them.
40025 trundling through Portwood, Stockport en route to Dewsnap sidings from Glazebrook. 'Coal' wagons loaded with steel wire from the long defunct works in Irlam. Pretty much everything in this photograph is gone, today the M60 Manchester ring road and a Tesco's superstore occupy this location.
After a freighless afternoon, three run between 5 and 6 o'clock. This is the fist with GBRF 66764 leading the 1156 Angerstein Wharf to Bardon Hill near Kibworth
My next batch of two freight cars include a BMR-style Boston & Maine boxcar and a revamp of an old New Haven gondola MOC.
I really wanted to do a boxcar with the doors open and hobos ridin' the rails, and I also wanted the open door to partially cover the stickers. After some debate, I settled on a 50' version of the B&M: 50' because the door would've covered too much of the sticker on the 40'!
The gondola is an older MOC of mine that I reworked to make the connections between the sides and ends better. I also got some new stickers from OK BrickWorks. Old version here (the new version is much better!).

It's October 20, 2011. The short freight train consisting of SM42-028 and a dozen or so two-axle 3W/L Es-type open box wagons is passing the remains of the Grzegorzewice passenger stop which has been closed down for over 10 years, on the railway line no. 12. It was really lucky to meet such an exotic consist by chance, in addition with one of the oldest working in PKP Cargo SM42's that time.
I don't remember the use of such wagons commonly, maybe except for Halemba power plant, which tippler was adopted for these wagons exclusively. And the last time I saw them... being cut for scrap at Warszawa Główna Towarowa station in January 2021. An funfact: 3W/L wagons were remade from 202L refrigerated wagons, which turned out to be unnecessary in the 1990s, when road transport took over the vast majority of refrigerated products, being just more efficient and much faster.

Now I've already been building on the 12 ton ventilated van for some time now and only recently got it done. Due to the building techniques used it's quite heavy, but it is also one of my best rolling freight cars. The tank wagon is an older design, but I redid some of it. You can see those silverish bands to hold the tank rather than the strings I used before. Also the wheels are steered (so in curves they turn around a bit). The fake wheel holders are also new.

The demise of the former RhB Class Ge 6/6" locomotives has seen the regular use of Ge 4/4"' machines as well as the smaller Ge 4/4" units on freight trains. In this view taken a Bever, refurbished 650 had charge of the Albula Valley freight 5129, the 10:05 Chur GB to Samedan.
