Work in progress for full size Free Spirit. I used Vanna's Choice yarn in Honey for the body, and the hair yarn is Berroco Lustra, a woool/tencel blend, in black.

This hair style was very easy. The yarn does the work with this one. I crocheted a wig cap from very hairy mohair yarn, and crocheted loop stitches across the front for bangs (worked for 12 stitches).
I then cut strands about 14 inches long and hooked two rows of these from one edge of the bangs to the other, these would go from the sides to the back of the head.
Sew the wig cap to the head, then take a few strands on either side of her head, give them a couple twists, then secure the twists to the wig cap with a couple of very small hair clips (I buy mine at the drug store where they sell hair brushes, elastic bands, etc.)

We have one girl (as you've probably figured by my flickr pool) and now we're expecting # 2!! I love this fabric combo for the nursery! DH is the decision maker/co-designer. He has the final say on this one. He wants vehicles that look hand drawn/cartoonish. Nothing TOO bold or colorful. This combo fits perfect!
Pink and teal baby quilt. Free motion quilted. Fabrics by Dear Stella, Free Spirit, Lauren and Jessi, Joel Dewberry, Michael Miller Couture in Mermaid and a lot of others. I blogged about this quilt at modernpartiquilts.blogspot.com/2014/10/finished-gumballs....
A little gardener for my sister's birthday :-) The gorgeous flowers were from a book entitled 'Crochet Bouquet', which I checked out of our local library.

1st tunic made for Autumn/winter.
Easy Simplicity 2448 pattern used, made within a day.
Fabric: Tina Givens for Freestyle "Victoria" for body
Robert Kaufman Carolina Chambray chocolate ( this is lovely, will need to get more in other colors) for contrast.
While making this, was thinking of my late grandmother, so decided to add some vintage lace from her stash I inherited. Felt her presence while making it, so veryh strong emotional vibe with this tunic.
Modification: Did a broadback adjustment of 3/4" & shortened the length by 7.5cm.
Jenny's bed, made from a broken picture frame, some wooden spools, and twigs from the back yard. The coverlet is a block from the book "200 Crochet Blocks". Jenny is a Mini Free Spirit. Her pattern and the nightgown are available free on my blog at:

A travel case I made for Jenny; the crochet blocks are from the book "200 Crochet Blocks," the rest of it sort of evolved as I crocheted :-)The sections have padded cardboard to stiffen them, and Jenny is held in place with a ribbon tie.
The hair after the part has been stitched to the wig cap. I stitched two strands at the very front to give the front part a nicer look. Four strands are hooked to the wig cap on either side, to help keep the braids in place.

The four blocks of the Mini Travel Bag: They are about eight inches square. After they were crocheted, I cut two pieces of strong cardboard (the stuff Amazon uses when they ship books is good) to fit just inside these dimensions (about 7 1/2 inches). I covered the cardboard with cotton batting (Warm&Natural is a good choice).
The Inside (the striped block) is then crocheted to the outside (the flower block) around three sides, and the cardboard inserted and then the fourth side is crocheted closed. I crocheted another two rounds of single crochet around three sides (side, bottom, side) and fastened off.
Then, I joined yarn at the bottom of one of the pieces and crocheted a bottom section for sixteen rows, or wide enough to accommodate the doll. I crocheted a separate piece the same size, cut another piece of cardboard to fit inside this (not padded this time) and sewed the
separate piece to the floor piece with the cardboard sandwiched in between. Then you sew the other half of the travel bag to the bottom. I finished with a couple more rows of single crochet around the entire outside, then crocheted the handles on the top.
The bag closes with a small magnetic catch.
This isn't exactly a pattern, but guideline so you can make your own :-)
The back is finished off with some larger AMH floral pieces and solids. All surrounded with a light blue.
made a disappearing nine patch table runner out of a Nicey Jane Charm pack. Not too happy with the colors, I will have to pump it up with a cute border.

This tree is located in an area where many standing dead oaks remain.....after being burned in a fire several years ago....Though dead, their grace and eloquence in shape and symmetry remains....I think it will be the same with Steve....though his life is gone, much of who he was will remain....his free spirit...
