Yes, it has a fantastic scent! It's still in its container from the nursery, but soon I'll plant it with the other rose bushes in their own raised bed at the farm. The bed has fencing around it, but yesterday I saw a baby bunny hop through it. That's why keep finding evidence of nibbling.

This is the third to be found yesterday and all three from different areas and all early which is quite remarkable considering the dry spring and summer we have experienced. The Leafless Orchid grows to a height of 200-400mm with a solitary fragrant white flower. Please enlarge.
A beautiful lilac bush grows in my backyard. in 2013 it got cut way back. 7 years later it is finally as full as it was then. I couldn't resist taking many photo images with my Canon, then with my IPhone 11 Pro I took a few more at different angles. My favorite photography is Macro with Bokeh thrown into the mix. Bokeh is when you focus on one item whether background or foreground, zoom in on it and blur the rest of the image. I also like to layer my Photo Images giving them a dimensional look. This makes for interesting and unusual photos. The lilac is my favorite flower besides the Poppy. I love its fragrance and the differentiating purple colors. The Fragrant Hills Park (香山公园) is located 20 kilometers northwest of Beijing and not far from the Summer Palace. The name of the park derives not from the fresh air or aroma in the area, but in the shape of the hills themselves. If you look close enough (and with a bit of imagination thrown in) you can just make out the shape of an incense burner at the peak of the hills.
The best time to the hill is autumn when the red leaves decorating the trees on the hillside add an extra special glow to the area.
In fact, many Beijingers come here every year to collect red maple leaves.
The Fragrant Hills Park is also known as the Garden of Congenial Tranquility. However it is generally pretty busy here unless you escape the crowds and head into the woods. Take a chair-lift or hike up the peak itself for great views of the surrounding countryside. Once you reach "Incense burner peak" and, if you are felling fit and brave, head off on some of the marked trails and delve into the woodlands.
The hills and woods were a favorite country retreat of the emperors. The building of Temples began here in the Jin Dynasty (1186 AD) and by the Qing Dynasty, (1745 AD) 28 had been erected in the Garden of Congenial Tranquility. In 1860 and again in 1900, the Garden was seriously destroyed by fire and many of the temples and halls ruined. Today, only some of the buildings have been restored. When the Central Committee of the Communist Party moved to Beijing from Hubei, Mao made Double Purity Villa his residence here. Inside the Villa are various displays and cultural relics. However, it's the views of the countryside, which are the most attractive thing about the Park. From Ghost Fear peak on a fine day, (Ghosts apparently fear heights!) one can see the Yongding River, Luding Bridge, Prospect Hills, Summer Palace, Yuquan Hill and the outskirts of the city.

A Voice Within
One from last summer and one of my all time favorite roses. The perfume is wonderful. Need to get pruning and feeding if I'm going to get more this summer but need this slightly frosty weather to pass first.

What we wrongly call 'Geranium' are actually 'Pelargonium'... LOL.
Geranium Ingwersen's Variety (Cranesbill, Perennial Geranium)
Pleasant light pink flowers with pronounced sepals on strong stems.
Macro-rhizum are more drought tolerant than other Cranesbills.
The semi-evergreen aromatic leaves of Geranium Ingwersen's Variety are tinted bronze-red in fall and foliage can be dried for potpourri.
It has a very particular, quite strong smell.
Bees love them.

Even the lavender plants on my sideyard are blooming like crazy. They have attracted many bees and this is one of them.

"Muscari Butterfly" by Patti Deters. A bright iridescent Blue Morpho butterfly rests lightly on a blooming muscari. Blue Morpho butterflies are some of the largest and most striking you can find. The sparkling and shiny blue color is actually something called structural color and appears blue because refracted light hides all the other colors. The muscari flower is a bulb and also known as grape hyacinth. These little spring ephemerals are easily identifiable when they bloom by the tight clusters of tiny bells that smell like grape juice, although you have to get low to the ground to catch the fragrance. This vertical image with gray bokeh background is a composite image - it would be rare indeed to see a Blue Morpho on a muscari bulb flower. Blatantly Fragrant
Oh the smell of the hyacinths! I wish there was aroma to be added to a digital image. It was sweet, overwhelming and poignant! Excactly like their colors!
This image was taken on my first trip (this year) to the dutch flower fields with my camera. Too early for the tulips but just in time for the Hyacinths. More to come!

Sunrise in the north west of the Netherlands. While processing this image, I was reminded (in a very vivid manner) of the scent of the flowering hyacinths. Crazy how the brain works!

Where we came from in Alberta, water lilies of any sort were highly rare, it was just too dry. The Yellow Pond-lilies were in the north of Alberta, and it was a delight to see them there when we travelled that far. BUT, to actually have white ones just a few kilometres from where we live is amazing! They are called Fragrant Water Lilies, Nymphaea odorata. If we still had hip waders, we could check out if they do smell nice...
Some flowers go together so very well, like these pink Tulips with the blue Hyacinths.
Perfect.
All from the shops!
They embaume our room with their sweetness.
