I've been striving to get shots like this using only natural light for a few weeks now, & I'm quite happy with these. They aren't perfect, but I'm calling it a victory, which is not only sweet but smells good too :)
This morning I went birding down in Windsor Vermont, hoping to meet a birding group at a floodplain forest where they often see yellow-billed cuckoos. The group never arrived, unfortunately, so I headed over to Lake Runnemede. There were some good birds, including a juvenile Common Loon, but no good bird photos. There was, however, a small pond completely covered with these gorgeous water lilies, some of which were close enough to the shore tat I could get macro shots.
Stay tuned, as tomorrow I will be in Quebec near the St. Lawrence. Will stay there for three days, hope to see some good northern birds.
A wonderful evening walk on Rudge Hill national nature reserve, during which we saw 7 types of orchid: common spotted, fragrant, greater butterfly, bee, pyramidal, plus white and broad leaved helleborines.
A small fragrant jasmine garland I bought from an Indian lady for my antique bronze Buddha statue on Saturday morning at the local morning market. I love the smell of jasmine.
