Today it just happened. I felt inspiration, will, joy and the need to photograph. I got in that mode where time and hunger etc. no longer exists, you just snap photo after photo after photo.. love it.

Hope you do too!

Life is fragile. We're not guaranteed a tomorrow so give it everything you've got...

Another wonderful album from the magical 1987. 25 years ago, Sting gave us Nothing like the sun. The title comes from Shakespeare's Sonnet #130 ("My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun"), which Sting used in the song "Sister Moon".

Featuring the beautiful Kimi :)

We had an afternoon of trying a few shots out in Lytham.

It was freezing cold and we got lots of funny looks but it was so worth it!

I tried to go for quite a doll like look on this one. The light was going fast so had to work around this by brightening the image slightly.

It must be a fragile system if it can be brought down by just a few berries.

broken heart stencil, fragile love!

I saved some rose buds from a bouquet of flowers that I received for a present, I picked one up today and it started to fall apart. The drying has made the bud so fragile.

If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one

Drying in the colour of the evening sun

Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away

But something in our minds will always stay

Perhaps this final act was meant

To clinch a lifetime's argument

That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could

For all those born beneath an angry star

Lest we forget how fragile we are

On and on the rain will fall

Like tears from a star like tears from a star

On and on the rain will say

How fragile we are how fragile we are

a whole is broken

A mating pair of fragile forktails in the wheel formation, which to me looks more like a heart shape. The male is perched on ripening common hedge parsley burs.

“Sometimes I enjoy just photographing the surface because I think it can be as revealing as going to the heart of the matter.”

Tonight your soul sleeps,

but one day you will feel real pain,

maybe then you will see me as I am,

A fragile wreck on a storm of emotion

Countless times I trusted you,

I let you back in,

Knowing... Yearning... you know

I should have run... but I stayed

Maybe I always knew,

My fragile dreams would be broken for you.

Today I introduced myself,

To my own feelings,

In silent agony, after all these years,

They spoke to me... after all these years

Maybe I always knew...

You've already seen the digisnap version of this so here's the more considered LF version. I wanted to emphasise the threatening bulk of the cliff above the delicate plants....

The Fragile Beauty exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London displays more than 300 prints from the photographic collection of Elton John and David Furnish.

The photographs date from the 1950s to the present day, so in terms of contemporary work, the exhibition is interesting and absorbing. Themes include fashion, reportage, celebrity, the male body and American photography, as well as persecution, resistance and key moments in history such as the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s, AIDS activism of the 1980s, and the events of 11 September 2001.

The exhibition runs until 5 January 2025.
