“Life is more fragile and precious than I can comprehend, but believe me, I'm trying.”

― John O'Callaghan

yes, everybody has meanwhile seen numerous pics like that, but I always wanted to shoot my own icy bubble... well, today (on the first day of spring) it was cold enough :-)

While smelling gardenia blooms and working with some closeup photographs this tiny - very tiny - little friend appeared. Hats off to those of you who present those excellent damselfly and dragonfly images. It takes not only keen eyesight but mastery of the camera's settings. Fragile Forktail Damselfly - Morgan County, Alabama - 2017. Please give input if I have misidentified it.

This little hummingbird has built her tiny nest under the eaves behind my garage and I am fascinated by it and her! I read that hummingbirds use spider web threads to hold the nest together - the outside is bits of leaves or lichen.

She does not let me get too close - but tonight I braved her wrath and climbed up a ladder with my cell phone to see what is inside. Looks like 2 tiny babies ... in the first comment below. The nest itself is about the size of an egg cup - built on an electrical extension cord. Everything is miniature and fragile!
