I went to Ulistac this morning to find white-throated sparrow and heard them a couple of times but could not spot them. As a consolation prize, got this foxy one.

Fox, do you come here often enough to satisfy the permanent residence rule of the Senate?
You could be exhibiting "normative conduct".
The answer to be revealed soon. Follow the Duffy trial.

Large snowballs on the side of a large pile of snow is no problem for a red fox. The large snow mound is due to blowing snow and snow removal combined.
On this day, it was a sunny March day with temperatures at -25f. I watched the fox climb down the snow and find a nice sunny spot to lay down and nap.
A few years back I had a unique photographic experience. I came across 2 foxes that were running along the side of the road. They did not seem to mind my presence, and so I walked with them for about an hour, before they decided to split up and wonder down different trails in the park. I went with one of the foxes, and we walked down and back along a marsh trail for over an hour, he hunting for voles while I tried to capture the moments. During that hour he caught 14 voles (hungry fellow) and provided me with over 500 pictures during the 2 1/2 hours I spent in total with the two of them...

Red fox caught in the evening sunset - golden hour rightly named - what a beautiful creature and good to see it looking so healthy.
The fox was very calm, casually roaming about, and then it slowly walked into the woods. Fortunately there was no traffic during this interaction.

Something has caught the attention of this beautiful Red Fox. And of course as I was walking back to the car, because I thought I had gotten the shot, Margaret yells "He's got a critter!". It must have been a small one because when I turned around I only saw the last two chomps and it was all over.
