a japanese red fox in snow, Notsuke Peninsula, Japan

surprise visit this morning

Fox cubs making a rare daytime appearance in my garden.

This Fox was relaxing in the winter sunshine. I cant divulge the location, too many evil humans about.

Shot taken with the a7r4 and GM 400mm f2.8 lens.

I saw this chap around Christmas time for a split second, but I didn't have a camera with me. I've since then gone to this area numerous times hoping for a glimpse, since it is on my way to where I volunteer.

Today I finally got lucky - happy I managed to get a shot of it. It noticed me from quite a distance, paused, watched me, then walked off into the undergrowth.

Wish I had a bigger lens!😀

Did a trip with the big cat and shot some fog. Crazy stuff. 2/3 stop on the ASA dial babe :))

This Fox Kit was in full sprint mode on the way back to the den. They are starting to investigate their new area under the watchful eye of Mom.

Was pleasantly surprised to find this wee fox whilst out doing some aircraft photography.

Fox cub play hunting

There were four fox kits playing outside the den...these two were too tired to continue...Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Canada

Fox Sparrows are rare winter residents in NY. I heard that there were two wintering at a park (Mendon's Pond Park) about two hour drive northwest from our house. You can feed the birds there from your hand. Which my son did for over an hour before the fox sparrows showed up. They do not feed from one's hand but they were happy to obliged some pics for me.

I hope everyone enjoys this image! :D

Play fighting, moments later the adult came back.

Having stuck a pine branch in a pot, I suddenly realized that this Charley Brown Christmas tree could use all the fox decorations friends have given me over the years!

We happened to see this little guy as he was trotting along the fence line. When he saw us sitting in our vehicle he stopped and sat down as if to say, "here is my best side" and gave me plenty of opportunity to adjust camera settings as it was rather low light being early evening time.

Unexpectedly in the surroundings of the Malarrif lighthouse, this beautiful arctic fox appeared, you can see how it was changing its fur from winter to summer.

Red fox cub. Little wonder of the wild on our doorstep, which I'm looking for every spring with impatience and excitement (from one year to the next, the occupied dens are never the same)! So cute, full of life and yet so fragile ! The mother is watching over her 5 little ones, she has done a great job, they are in good shape despite the fairly cold and dry spring that we are experiencing.

Another shot of this beautiful female fox youngster

I spotted this youngster looking for food, at RSPB Arne.

Fox in the grass

Some loss of detail as I only had the P1000 with me, set at 1500mm zoom.

Caught him chasing crows on Castles Field, Southsea

Found this beautiful fox in Denali National Park. The fox came out of the fall folliage onto a gravel pad with its nose to the ground. I was standing about 30 feet from the fox and it walked to within 10 to 15 feet of me.

Fox hunt red squirrels, arctic ground squirrels, voles, snowshoe hares, bird eggs, carrion, birds, muskrats and even eat vegitation when prey is scarce.

Red fox can be found throughout Alaska.

A couple more photos of a lovely evening watching fox cubs playing at sunset.

Bad Mergentheim, Germany

Sadly our foxes are a much maligned animal in the Uk, but they are an integral part of our countryside and urban areas, they certainly are a joy to watch and photograph.
