Beamish Power from the Past enhanced transport weekend took me to the North East, again. This was one of the subjects I wanted in sun and as it turns out the only one as after this cloud rolled in for the day. Fowler of Leeds roller sits outside its shed as visiting Peckett 1370 May makes its way to get its coach for the passenger services at Rowley.
Fowler's Beach Sunrise - I tucked myself down behind a scruffy little bush to add something special to my sunrise photograph. I took this as the sun was just beginning to rise over the Delaware Bay. See more at RandyRobertsPhotography.com
Heck Plasmoor
possibly the only (one of, at least) John Fowler shunter earning a crust at Heck Plasmoor sidings.
A favourite with staff its mainly used to shunt wagons in and out of the repair shop with the Sentinel doing the heavy work.
Fowlers Beach Road - This was the scene along Fowlers Beach Road this morning as I was out for an early morning photoshoot. Not so long ago this was a thriving stand of trees that are now dead due to the saltwater invasion that had been taking place. Fortunately this has now been corrected and I look forward to seeing the regrowth over time. You can see more of my work at RandyRobertsPhotography.com

Thursday 9th December 2021.
Camera: Rittreck Six 6x6 SLR.
Lens: 80mm Rittron f/2.
Film: Ilford Delta 100 120 black & white negative.
Exposure: 1/500 @ f/4; MLU.
Development: ID-11 1 + 3 20C/21m.
From a recent test roll through a Rittreck SLR I did some work on for its owner. The Rittreck was the precursor to the better-known Norita 6x6 SLR and was made in the late 1960s by Musashino Kōki. See here for more information about the Rittreck/Norita series. camera-wiki.org/wiki/Rittreck_6×6_and_Norita_66
Although new or barely used, this example needed many adjustments to its film transport system to obtain accurate and reliable frame spacing. The shutter curtains were also badly out of adjustment manifesting severe tapering at the faster speeds.
I've been informed this example was made late in the day not long before Musashino Kōki went broke. I don't know if this is definitely the case, but it certainly seemed to have been thrown together in a hurry. The infinity calibration of its 80mm Rittron lens was also somewhat off, with it focusing past infinity. Not an unknown issue with the latter Noritar 80mm either, according to my online research.
I shot a test roll of Delta 100 in the space of a couple of hours one day earlier in December 2021. I tried to include decent amounts of sky in many frames in order to highlight potential tapering of exposure. Happily, every frame at various speeds is entirely even across the gate, so my adjustments seem to have been a success.

Besides the Dream Suite, Disneyland is chock full of imaginary hotel facades, depicting fictitious lodgings of fantasy. If I had to choose just one of those to stay in for real, I think I might choose Fowler's Inn.

I had been expecting to see a Coach of Langtoft Trident approaching The Deepings School but instead it was a trio of Fowlers former West Mids B7TL / Geminis that turned up from the Spalding direction.
Two, including BJ03 EXG, then parked up for the day in the adjacent leisure centre car park whilst the third headed for home.

Maybe a Fowlers toad. I'm not sure I've ever tried to ID a toad before!
Part of the problem is that they can change color and even size in accordance with their environment.
This is just one more critter I shot at Nahant Marsh.
Fowlers YX51AYF, a 2001 Volvo B7TL Plaxton President, was seen on the pits at the Fowlers depot. This is getting a new ramp fitted, and i think some new paintwork on. New to East Yorkshire Motor Services as their fleet number 667, it transferred over to the FInglands operation to become their 1799. After Finglands ceased operations in Manchester, it transferred back to East Yorkshire and became our fleet number 590. It was commonly seen operating around Bridlington, where all our oldest Presidents used to end up.
In 2014, Fowlers purchased 4 Plaxton President bodied Dennis Tridents from Metroline. On 2nd February 2015, TP422 (LK03 CFF) and a sister bus await their afternoon school duties.
KBSR #701 heads east on the former Big Four with grain loads from Sheldon passing the remains of an old mast signal at Fowler, Indiana.
Before Penn Central, the former Big Four between Kankakee and Cincinnati was a 70 mph passenger mainline with manual block signaling. The James Whitcomb Riley was the last passenger train to use the old Big Four in 1973 as track conditions continued to deteriorate under PC.
This signwriting was seen on an old shop front at 11 Church Street, Gamlingay. Up until a few years ago it had been obscured by an old retractable shop canopy that was fitted over it. It reads -
