Elle doit son nom à sa silhouette.
Avant que la plate-forme de la Chaire fût rendue accessible par des marches en pierre et des escaliers en fer (1919), la formation portait le nom de "Tête de Turc", une désignation que l’on trouve encore dans les premiers guides touristiques.

This is close to Silent Street and reminded me very much of a rock formation I saw on Table Mountain in South Africa.

Fast-moving Dunlins zip about in formation over the mouth of Paine's Creek Beach and the shallows at a Cape Cod Bay beach.

Colas Class 56 Nos 56096 & 56094 approach Rhosneigr station on 13th October 2021 while working 3S71, 1221 Holyhead - Shrewsbury Coleham depot RHTT water cannons. Because of late running the train had been turned back at Valley, and was now 'running to time'. The long straight from Valley to Rhosneigr is also notable for RAF Valley, which throughout the day was providing a bit of a show with some close formation flying in really poor visibility. Taken on our trip to Arches National Park. Look close and you will see my lovely bride, adding a bit of perspective. Love the tree growing from the top! LOL!
There is no shortage of geese formations to capture this time of year. This one was both a test of the handheld ability of the 18-400mm Tamron lens, and the Luminar2018 editing software.
Rock formation in Kodachrome. The park got its name from an expedition by National Geographic Society back in the late 1940s. The Nat Geo team photographed the park using Kodachrome film which was only made available commercially a year or two earlier. One could also argue that the park is named such because it's so colorful.
