Trojan Phlyers formation take off at Fort Scott KS. Wonder if they will have a show there this year?
This may look like sand dunes (reminded me of the texture of a lemon meringue pie) but it is actually one of the geological formations in Cappadocia.
Formations under storm light and clouds in Arizona at the Petrified Forest National Park. Some of these formations look like those in the Badlands of South Dakota.
I took a trip out to an area Northeast of Denver called Barr Lake. It is a bird and wildlife refuge. This place is surrounded by nothing but farmland. The staggering number of geese what unlike anything I had seen before.

This is close to Silent Street and reminded me very much of a rock formation I saw on Table Mountain in South Africa.
The geology of this region is both simple yet bizarre. Salt can flow like a glacier. Salt of the Paradox Formation was squeezed into a dome in the Moab area, elevating the rocks above it. Arches National Park, near Moab, Utah. Many views of canyons and rock formations. Best photographs are with blue sky background!

Not a lot to say on this one really, so I’ll just take the opportunity to thank everyone for their likes and comments on the recent images. I don't always have the time to reciprocate, but nevertheless value you taking time to show some appreciation and give me the encouragement to continue sharing my images.

the leaves of a pandanus are attached to the trunk in a spiral formation
it has a fibrous round fruit that looks a little like a pineapple (inedible, unless you are desperate) and aerial prop roots
there are many different varieties and it's native region includes Australia, South Pacific Islands and Hawaii. It's also called screwpine

this wasn't an easy pic to take because the leaves are sharp, long and usually dirty - it took me nearly a year to come across a good one
At the limit of previous exploration in Sakai Cave, the team pause to admire formations before continuing the push to find new cave passage.
The Orion Nebula is a picture book of star formation, from the massive, young stars shaping the nebula to the pillars of dense gas that may be the homes of budding stars. The Trapezium resides in the bright central region. Ultraviolet light unleashed by these stars carves a cavity in the emission nebula and disrupts the growth of hundreds of smaller stars.
