Three greylag geese in tight formation above the Ismaninger Speichersee, east basin.
The Ismaninger Speichersee is a reservoir in the north of Munich, built in 1929 to regulate the water flow for the run-of-the-river power plants along the Isar Canal.
The reservoir and the adjacent fish ponds are a nature reserve (Europareservat) and an Important Bird Area (IBA).

Liked the direction of the streaming clouds here that mirrored the rock formations below the lighthouse.
For the first time this year our area had some lightning storms resulting in some nice cloud structures.

Ellery Creek Big Hole is one of the most popular and picturesque camping, walking, swimming and picnic spots in the Tjoritja / West MacDonnell National Park. The spectacular waterhole is fed by the West MacDonnell Ranges (Tjoritja) and surrounded by high red cliffs and sandy Ellery Creek. It is also at the trailhead for Sections 6 and 7 of the 231 kilometre Larapinta Trail walk.
Thousands of years of massive floods have carved out this waterhole, which is recognised as an internationally significant geological site. Take the 3 kilometre Dolomite walk to see the surrounding formations. The Aboriginal name for Ellery Big Hole is Udepata. The permanent water made it a special meeting place for the Aranda people on the fish and honey ant dreaming trails. 16311
A photo taken during our family tour of the South Island last month. Vivid turquoise water of the Hokitika River rushes through a magnificent granite gorge lined with native bush.
This was taken at Arches National Park near Moab, Utah.. . This formation is named for the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, who wore headgear shaped like this rock. I liked the effect of taking the photo near sunset from the shaded side.
Yellowstone National Park is full of nature's mysteries around every turn. It would take many trips to take it all in. Years of geothermal activity at Mammoth Hot Springs created this beautiful display of mineral deposit capped travertine rock formations. Recent minor earthquake activity caused a shift in the spring shaft, which caused steaming, hot water to flow over these stone terraces.

This beautiful park features scenic cliffs, buttes and spectacular rock formations in a high desert setting. The canyon was formed 3 million years ago. It is located where the southernmost tip of the Sierra Nevada converges with the El Paso Mountains. There are three tributary canyons. It is a geological treasure trove.
The canyons were once home to the Kawaiisu Indians, who left petroglyphs in the nearby El Paso mountains, and was on a Native American trade route for thousands of years. The park now protects significant paleontology sites and the remains of 1890s-era mining operations.
Providing several unique, dramatic areas, and close to Los Angeles, Hollywood has frequently filmed at Red Rock Canyon, including motion pictures, television series, advertisements, and music videos.

This tree has partially uprooted and is at quite an angle over a creek in a local park. I've been trying to figure out how this ice formed, but however it did, it sure was pretty in the light.
The main attraction of Praia da Rocha are the spectacular natural rock formations surrounding the beach. These impressive ochre-coloured cliffs give the beach a fascinating feel. Literally, the name Praia da Rocha means 'Rocky Beach'. The beach is quite sandy.
Praia da Rocha is one of the most well-known beaches and resort towns in Portugal. It is located on the Algarve coast in the town of Portimão, about an hour's drive from the Faro Airport. Google
